Ellipsis Word Of The Week... Cockalorum

"A man wrapped up in himself makes a very small parcel."

~John Ruskin

This past week, Donald Trump shared, that he is the most powerful person whose ever walked the planet. I would say that counts as him being a cockalorum;

California, Don't Let Me Down

"Here's the truth: for every bill that's too high, there's special interest profiting off keeping it there. They want you to believe that's inevitable. That's just how that market works. But that's BULLSHIT!"

~Tom Steyer
San Francisco Speech
2026

Here we go, it's June 2nd, 2026, California Primary Day!

Come on California, vote with a clear head about all we've been through with Donald Trump. My pick for California Governor is Tom Steyer and Michael Tubbs for Lt. Governor. To be honest, the top offices were pretty much all that mattered to me in my district, however, I am closely watching a race in Central California, Bakersfield, David Valadao, who will face two Democratic candidates with impressive backing by different parts of the party. Physician Jasmeet Bains, and Randy Villegas. Valadao is the last of the republican representatives who voted to impeach Trump, not once, but twice! For that reason I don't hate him, but lets face it, at the end of the day, he's a republican, and you can't trust the lot of them. As my dad used to say, why would you vote for a republican if you don't have to?

And, of course, the race for Mayor of Los Angeles has me on edge. The current mayor, Karen Bass, has had a rocky time, especially after the devastating wildfire ravaged the southland in early 2025! Republicans were there to spread misinformation, that she was never able to get out in front of. Once again, conspiracy theories managed to rewrite history. I believe her biggest opponent tonight will be Spencer Pratt. I can't roll my eyes enough at the mere thought of it!. He's a former reality TV actor. A villain. Who is currently running a campaign right out of Trump's playbook, complete with AI generated superhero imaginations of himself, because, I don't know, everyone loves a Marvel superhero? Everyone wants to be entertained? Pratt has NO experience in governance, in balancing a budget for an entire city, for any kind of emergency response. He's a stupid choice. But L.A. you do you!

I can't make people be smart.
I just pray they act with wisdom when casting their vote.

California, please vote!

Ellipsis Word Of The Week... Forplaint

"Never tell your problems to anyone... 20% don't care
and 80% are glad you have them."

~Lou Holtz

Forplaint is a rare and obsolete Middle English word
 meaning, "wearied with complaining."

Forplaint used in a sentence...

Trump's constant complaining about everything from what he deems the fake news, to how unfair it is that the congress doesn't just hand him billions for his stupid ballroom, has left me more than a little forplaint.

Can You Hear Me Now?

"Despite the constant negative press coverage, covfefe."

Donald J. Trump

8647 this phone as soon as you can, and what I mean by, 8647, in this case, is to dump this bad deal and at least attempt to get your money back! Run for the door. Run for the border. Just run. And then learn from the situation, like the victims of Trump University, or any of the vendors and charities he stiffed over the years. You have at least 600,000 friends and neighbors who, like you, believed one of his scams. Become a smarter person now. Trump crypto was another massive scam. It is currently going for about $2.33 cents, down from it's all time high of $73.43 in January of 2025. Trump Media's all time high stock price of $97.54, on March 4th, 2022, has fallen to it's current low of $8.82 cents in today's premarket.

Donald Trump is a dangerous man, who will stop at nothing to destroy America and all we stand for. I know that only a few people read my blog anymore, so perhaps I am screaming into the void, but please, if you are still MAGA, but you have been catching him in lies, and grifting, please consider for a moment, whether or not, I am your enemy, just because I am a Democrat and I see Trump for who he is. I don't know that the midterms will be the great savior for us. Impeachment could happen as early as a year from now, but that will simply put J.D. Vance in office, and we all know where he stands. Just read the Project 2025 agenda. We are losing more and more every day, and we will continue to lose as long as we don't get proactive. We tried to warn you before, please hear us now!

It's starts with the little things. Usually so little, no one notices. Like with the fine print... one day you realize you will probably never get that phone you bought, or your money back either.

Ellipsis Word Of The Week... Widdershins

"It's better to be slow and careful in the right direction, than to be fast and careless on the wrong path. Be sure you are on the right path, before you begin to take your steps."

~Israelmore Ayivor
Daily Drive 365

This past week belonged to Donald Trump, Pete Hegseth and Kashyap Patel. J.D. Vance was missing in action, and Donald Trump proved Marco Rubio to be a fool, when he contradicted him about the war in Iran, then sent him to smooze, charm and generally smooth things over regarding Trump's little tiff with Pope Leo! Kash Patel was again scrutinized for his drinking, and idiotic behavior during his time as F.B.I Director. And good old Pete Hegseth was just being a fake tough guy, which he constantly fails at. He's a joke! They all are, and they are taking this county down the wrong road.

You could say...

Trump is taking us down a widdershins direction! And it keeps me up nights!

A Little Humor, And Truth

"God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupid been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid. He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W. Bush look smart. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws... he would make a Trump."

~Bette Midler
Regarding her thoughts about Donald Trump

Bette has always been my hero, both for her political beliefs, and her marvelous acting. She was so funny in, Ruthless People, and didn't she break your heart in, Beaches? She's terrific! And like Bette Midler, Barbara Hershey is on earth one with the rest of us who can still think straight! I appreciate this bit of humor, in an otherwise dismal life we are all living under the Trump administration.

 Thank you, ladies!

I loved this as a kid, still do!

Why Tom Steyer?

"We will have to pay a heavy price if we insist on
navigating the 21st Century with a 20th Century mindset."

Why am I voting for Tom Steyer for governor of California? Because after watching last nights, CNN California Primary Debate, it became clear that he represented my values. He supports renewable energy. Solving the housing crisis in California, adding additional tax relief to the movie industry for California productions, which brings in local revenue in the support of local businesses, such as Yolanda's Tamales, in Sacramento. The cast and crew of the film, One Battle After Another, enjoyed Yolanda's so much, that they returned multiple times! Pretty soon, word got out, and Yolanda's made a lot of new friends and customers! We need more of that! We need it here in Stockton too.

Tom gets that with gas hitting new highs each day, Californians can't afford to live here. Gas or groceries? Gas or keeping the lights on? Gas or healthcare? Tom has some plans for affordability. Despite being a billionaire, he sees the need for the richest in this state to start paying their fair share. He believes in investing in our education system, and finding the way toward healthcare for all. As I have always said, it doesn't matter who you are, you deserve the dignity of proper healthcare. If the person standing next to you in line at the grocery store or Starbucks or anywhere is in better health, you'll be in better health! And finally, he will work to unmask Trump's Gestapo, otherwise known as ICE.

It all lines up. I am voting for Tom Steyer!

Onward to, Tuesday, June 2nd!

Goodbye My Friend, For Now

"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we have to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it."

~Stephen Colbert

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert ends his 11 year run in May. I will never forgive Trump for setting this travesty in motion. It's yet another thing, that adds to making life shitty, that we have no control to either stop or at least slow down. I get that late night tv has been losing money for years, but it's also true that Trump had his hands all over it! That's the worst part of life with Trump, being completely out of control to fix the things giving you pain. He wants to hurt us, to have us under his control, even in our very thoughts. Life is difficult enough, without having him as the president. We all needed, Stephen Colbert, and now he's gone. And while he will be back in the awesome form of helping to develop the newest movie in the, Lord of the Rings, film that is not the same in any way as inviting him into our living rooms at night, still I look forward to his future endeavors, and I wish him well!

And now Trump is killing culture.

Comedy is important. Stand up for free speech whenever you can!

Soap, Bleach, Softeners

"Do more than belong: participate.
 Do more than care: help.
 Do more than believe: practice.
Do more than be fair: be kind.
Do more than forgive: forget.
 Do more than dream: work."

~William Arthur Ward

 Former Congressman, Eric Swalwell

Yet another woman came forward yesterday, this time in Beverly Hills, to accuse Eric Swalwell of rape. That brings the total to five. So, criminal investigations have been opened in 3 counties, New York, Alameda County, and Los Angeles. He's done with his political career. He killed it! He's going to have a miserable few years coming up, and of course all of it will play out through the media, so that means we get to share the misery with him. Or not. For the most part, I have moved on, but what remains is the frustration of watching yet another person with all the talent in the world, fall from grace so hard that they can't or probably won't come back from it. It's such a waste. I will let go completely... in time. In the mean time I have hope for the midterms, when if we can just flip the congress and the senate, we can begin to do some cleaning of the dirty laundry that's been piling up! We have a real chance of being able to impeach Donald Trump, and begin making him pay for his years of pedophilia and raping of women. If we are going to expect Eric Swalwell to face his demons, then Trump had better face his too. At least that's what should happen, if it will, well, that's another story! I guess cynical is my current emotion.

Suppose You Were An Idiot

April 10th 2026

"Reader, suppose you were an idiot,
now suppose you were a member of congress.
 But I repeat myself."

~Mark Twain

Sigh.

Here we go again. Eric Swalwell was my choice for governor. I was all ready to cast my primary vote for him. Now... I will go with Tom Steyer. Not that he's so bad, he has a whole lot to offer, but it's lets face it, nothing is ever what it seems, particularly in politics, so who knows how that will work out! To a certain degree, I agree with Swalwell, the timing is really awkward, republicans love a dirty trick, but in this case multiple women have come forward, and apparently there are receipts in the form of emails, text messages and... wait for it... unsolicited nude photos sent from his phone to at least one of the women. Next week is going to be enormous fun. His chances of being the democratic nominee for governor fell sharply yesterday and there are calls for him to resign, or face expulsion. He is vowing to fight it, but, well, I have moved on, and I think most folks will by this time next week. I will have more to say on the subject as the week goes forward, but for right now, I just feel sad. Nothing can break your heart like politics, and the those who pose as anything more than the idiots they truly are.

The Main Event

It's Friday, Good Friday in fact, so how about a fun little movie from YouTube free tv shows and movies?

And Oh, by the way, this happened yesterday.

"Betrayal is not a single act,
but a crack in the mirror of loyalty, reflecting shards of shattered trust."

Congratulations!

~Erma Bombeck

Letter From, Franklin Graham to President Trump
October 15th, 2025
Posted on Donald Trump's Truth Social Account
March 29th, 2026

It scares me when he does things like this, posting questions about his own mortality and the hereafter. Trump is erratic. Who knows what's going on in his brain. Is he contemplating suicide? Is he not long for this earth, due to health related issues? And there's no way of knowing because no one with the information is going to tell anyone! It could be as simple as an elderly man processing his life, and contemplating the next chapter, but with Trump things are never as simple as that! All I know is it disturbs me greatly. I am afraid, because at the moment he also behaves like a hopelessly cornered dog, that he will decide that nuking the HELL out of the Middle East is what it means to be the ultimate peacemaker, and therefore worthy of Heaven, despite the repercussions for the rest of us! Too many psychotic people are whispering in his ear. And so begins another week of, will he nukes us, or will he get someone else to do it?

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE... it's the ultimate theme park ride!

Perfidy

"Godlessness ends great nations.
The one thing we can all do is get down on our knees and pray."

~Pete Hegseth

Did Pete Hegseth commit a war crime through the act of Perfidy?

I hope not, but it appears that he may have done just that! This is the year that the midterms decides our long term future, and I know that as we move closer to next November things will become more and more crazy, but honestly, America is so far into the dark right now, that I am not sure we will find our way home. This year marks America's 250th anniversary, now what?

Monday, Monday

How much longer will the republican party allow this man to hurt folks, just for the pleasure of hurting people? Just for the sport of it. Trump is a daily embarrassment to this country, and the stress causes is making all of us sicker, aside from that, the provocations to the world may in fact lead to WWIII. Greenland? Seriously? Is it all, really, over the Epstein Files? I certainly think it could be. But whatever it is, I just want to know what's making every single day, just a little bit more depressing, as I get older and older waiting for the midterms. Jay Powell doesn't deserve this, none of us do! Monday, Monday.

It's January 4th...

"Who are these masked birds? Not Robin Hood's for they live in open woods. They only deal in stolen goods. Like berry futures, cedar cones and sweet, sweet fruit, but leave the stones."

~Janet Yolen
Cedar Waxwings Unmasked

... and there is an elephant in the room. A big, bloated, shitgibbon of an elephant. But there's nothing I can do about his machinations. Just keep watch and hope for the best! Yes, I am stressed out. Sometimes it feels like having any kind of hope for the coming mid-terms seems completely irrational and ill advised. Right now is one of those times. But I am trying to focus on the things that heal me up inside, like birding. One of my favorite birds to photograph, the Cedar Waxwing, showed up in Louis Park a couple days ago. They are beautiful, and challenging, and that's just what I need to get me through... something of natural beauty, rather then all the manufactured drama that fills every single day! So enjoy this little gallery of the delightful little drunk birds, the Cedar Waxwing.

Well, THAT Wasn't On My Bingo Card

"Not only do we have the D.C. jail which is the D.C. gulag, but now we have Nancy Pelosi's gazpacho police spying on members of Congress, spying on the legislative work that we do, spying on our staff, spying on the American people."

~Marjorie Taylor Greene

A lot of things happened in 2025 that were not on my bingo card, both in my private life, and in the world at large. Doge obtaining our personal information, with no oversite on what he was doing with it! Donald Trump nearly crashing the world economy with his tariffs, and "Independence Day" of fuckery. The murders of Charlie Kirk, and Rob Reiner, the Epstein Files rocking Washington D.C., the loss of my beautiful cat Hendrix, only 9 months after I lost Dylan. But nothing surprised me more than Marjorie Taylor Greene, growing up, right before our eyes! She found her real voice. Her honest voice. I guess. I mean... imagine that! I should have expected someone in congress to lose their mind and finally locate their brain, I mean, after all, Dick Cheney did! But MTG? Will her new found attitude hold? Will she extend her mea culpa in 2026 to reflect a better Christian walk? Time will tell! Personally, I wish her luck. I wish her success in her attempts to change from a politically toxic princess, to a mature seeker of truth. When the truth wins, we all do better.
