#9 Silly Symphonies - The Skeleton Dance

“It's fun searching for the supernatural. If the supernatural comes looking for you, it's anything but fun. It's terrifying and disturbing. Keep it out of your life at all costs.”

~Stewart Stafford

Owl Hollow Road
 by Stewart Stafford

On a bracing night walk,
On leafy Owl Hollow Road,
A raspy voice whispered to me,
Like a deep-croaking old toad.

I moved rapidly on my path,
And then heard phantom feet,
Looked around, empty space,
Only silence replaced the beat.

At my most pressing pace now,
A shadow pointed past my shoulder,
An SUV slammed into my side,
And I broke my back on a boulder.

Autumn Leaf Of The Day #37

Autumn
The autumn comes, a maiden fair
In slenderness and grace,
With nodding rice-stems in her hair
And lilies in her face.
In flowers of grasses she is clad;
And as she moves along,
Birds greet her with their cooing glad
Like bracelets' tinkling song.”

~Kālidāsa

Green is a color of autumn too. Although I have to admit, I really love the purples. They are the best of all worlds. A little spring, and a little autumn. The darker shades of purple remind me of fresh plums. Deep burgundy/red inside, deep purple outside. I have a favorite sweater of the same colors. I think of plum pudding and sugarplum danish. Fruits of the Forest and Mincemeat pies. Jeepers Creepers, now I am hungry! Lets face it, I love all autumn leaves, even the brown and orange. I search for purple this time of year, but that doesn't mean I don't see the beauty in the rest of the falling leaves.

Do you have a favorite color, or type of leaf?

#8 The Midnight Hour full movie [1985]

“Halloween creatures both friendly & gruesome
peered out of the rustling leaves.”

~Kevin Purdy

This is a sweet little movie. It's from the 1980's, so it's a little dated, but lots of great actors and humor, so give it a go. If you like my goofiness, you'll love this!

Goodnight, Dear Boris The Spider!

“There is so much beauty in autumn and so much wisdom;
so much separation and so much sorrow!”

~Mehmet Murat ildan

I met, Boris The Spider, just a about a month ago and funny thing, I thought we would be old and dear friends for at least a few more weeks, if not until winter officially begins in December, but I am afraid he has moved on... or perhaps... died. I haven't seen him in a couple weeks. We have strayed into the cold part of autumn, as evidenced by the fresh blankets on my bed, and there is snow in the western Sierra, making it necessary for me to finally put on one of my favorite cardigans.

The weather makes me think its perhaps too cold for dear Boris, or maybe he made a tasty appetizer for one of the new birds that has migrated in over the last couple weeks. Sigh. Either way, he is gone I fear. I am mourning his absence, which is a strange feeling for a girl with a lifelong fear of spiders. All that's left of his once great spider mansion, is a few silky strands that can only be seen when they catch  the warm autumn light just right. And that's not a very good sign either.

So when I saw this silky spider balloon orb the other day, I had to wonder if Boris knew there was a new tenant, or tenants, about to hatch in his blackberry bush? Boris seemed like a good sort, so maybe he wouldn't be too upset that someone chose his blackberry bush to make a home. Hell, maybe he is keen for some company... some companionship. Maybe he ordered tiny spiders, so he could pass on his wisdom to a new generation of creepy crawlers. I sure hope so, Airbnb situations can be tricky things. There is nothing like taking a vacation, only to come home to squatters living in your web!

Goodnight, Boris The Spider, thanks for being so nifty!

Autumn Leaf Of The Day #36

“Every story begins somewhere, some in the rain of forgotten yesterdays and some in the scent of autumn leaves...”

~Jayita Bhattacharjee

My favorite color combination is, pink and yellow. When I was a little girl I had a pink room, and a yellow bedspread with Holly Hobby on it. I chose the paint colors and bedding for myself, and I requested a lemon yellow bean bag chair for the corner of the room, next to my TV. I always thought my room would one day be featured in a design magazine, but alas, I never got that call! LOL. I kept that bedspread for years, well into my teens, but around the age of 16 or 17 I did a redo of the decor and opted to paint my room blue, and chose a blue and green ivy quilt. It was so cute, and just the rights shades of both colors. A little darker than the yellow and pink, but also very girly. I was a girly, girl, so while the quilt was at that point gone, my Holly Hobby doll always remained on my bed. Gosh that was a long time ago, but every time I see pink and yellow together, it takes me back to a really nice memory of me designing my very own bedroom!

#7 Killer Klowns From Outer Space

“Some say that the 'Harvester of Souls' is myth. A legend to scare little kids and children, but what if...? Are you ready for Halloween?”

Anthony T. Hincks

Well, here we go again. A movie I chose for one my special Halloween posts was taken down by YouTube for violating their TMS. So, here is a movie that is available, Free with Ads. Sorry about that. I hope to post only content that was ad free or not under a copyright constraint, but it is what it is. I will be better prepared next year and anyway, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, looks fun! So it back and enjoy, hopefully it will still be here when you visit next time. Sheesh.

On An Autumn Day, You Can See Forever...

“It was a beautiful bright autumn day,
with air like cider and a sky so blue you could drown in it.”

~Diana Gabaldon,

Is there any better way to spend a cool Autumn day, then listening to the sound of migrating birds and feeling the warmth of the sun on your face? I was looking toward Heaven, and I felt like I could see forever. The sky was so blue, and the birds so chatty. I began the day with the sound of geese flying over the condo, making a joyful noise, and ended it with everyone I love, right here with me. It's the best of life, along with the hugs from your husband, and the feel of kitty cat whiskers on your knees, while you edit photos at your desk. I am so grateful for days like this.

Meet Speaker Of The House Johnson, MAGA Toady

“A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves.”
~Edward R. Murrow

The Republican party gleefully chose one of the most MAGA hardliners of the MAGA hardliners. Nice guy... too bad he's a treasonous son of a bitch, and kisser of Trump's ass and ring! Read About it here. We'll see how long this guy lasts.

#6 POLTERGEIST! Tale Of The Talking Cat! Warrens Were There!

“Diabolical forces are formidable. These forces are eternal, and they exist today. The fairy tale is true. The devil exists. God exists. And for us, as people, our very destiny hinges upon which one we elect to follow.”

~Ed Warren

The first I saw, or heard of, Ed and Lorraine Warren, was when they were guest on, if memory serves me, the Mike Douglas show. They were there to discuss the Amityville Haunting. I was a kid, but I sat mesmerized! I was, of course, into all things ghostie, but my interest in the Warrens, and what they had to say, was more than just wanting to see a ghost fly across the strange, or a some other Hollywood nonsense. The Warrens were serious people, and Christians, and before that point I hadn't seen anyone of their sort even bother to speak of God, or their faith in general, let alone cop to the very idea that if you believe in angels, you really need to understand demons exist also.

Isn't that a note! Demons exist also. Hmmm. Okay, well, here's the thing, I believe that's true, but it wasn't until I reached my mid 20's that I came to understand that truth. How? Why? Well, I was through my own experiences with the strange and unexplained phenomena in front of me. I will go into it sometime, but for now trust me, and if you know me well enough then you already know I wouldn't fib about such things. The beyond is nothing to play with, and I will leave it there. Don't get me wrong, we didn't go looking for what we encountered, it presented itself to Alan and I, and it was a situation of deal with it or not, but there was no room to be lukewarm about its existence.

I love all the movies in the Conjuring universe, but the real life the movies are based on, are far more compelling. The Smurl house, the haunting of 112 Ocean avenue, Amityville, New York. The Perron family. And of course, Annabelle. Who is not at all creepy, in fact I kinda like Raggedy Ann dolls. My husband on the other hand does NOT! No, he never met the famous Annabelle, but he did have one hell of a nightmare about a Raggedy Ann doll. Why? Shrug, who knows? He doesn't scare easily, but when it comes to those dolls, he takes a hard pass... always. LOL. It was the nightmare of no return! So, anyway, there it is. I believed in Ed and Lorraine Warren, and their life's work. I hope you will give the video a chance and perhaps consider the possibility that there is more beyond our daily awareness then we know. I can bare witness to the fact that there absolutely is an afterlife! Trust me.

Enjoy!

Silky October Balloons

“Sadness in autumn is an autumn within autumn!”

~Mehmet Murat ildan

I am seeing less and less tiny webs drifting across the sky. I will miss those tiny strands and orbs ballooning across the sky, but when spider mating season begins again next October, I will be there, looking for the light from the silk, once again, streaking across the sky!

Autumn Leaf Of The Day #34

“October, baptize me with leaves! Swaddle me in corduroy and nurse me with split pea soup. October, tuck tiny candy bars in my pockets and carve my smile into a thousand pumpkins. O autumn! O teakettle! O grace!”

~Rainbow Rowell

Breaking News... Republicans Are Fucking Nuts!

“Sometimes people hold a core belief that is very strong. When they are presented with evidence that works against that belief, the new
evidence cannot be accepted. It would create a feeling that is
extremely uncomfortable, called cognitive dissonance. And because it
is so important to protect the core belief, they will rationalize,
ignore and even deny anything that doesn't fit in with the core belief.”

Mark Meadows... Flipping Coffee Boy?

“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”

~Isaac Asimov

ABC News is reporting, that Jack Smith has granted, Mark Meadows, full immunity in exchange for his full and truthful testimony, in the January 6th case, which is intertwined with the Georgia RICO case. So, it's my prediction that Mark Meadows will be next to take a plea deal in the Georgia RICO case, unless Kanye West's former publicist does indeed beat him to it. Holy RICO, Batman, the news never sleeps anymore, and I bet Trump doesn't either! So, how long before Trump dismisses Mark Meadows as an insignificant member of his administration? Meadows was his chief of staff, I don't think he could get away with distancing himself from him, but I know he will give it a try! Mark Meadows... Coffee Boy!

Stay tuned!

His Mea Culpa

“I know where the skeletons are buried
because I was the one who buried them.”

~Michael Cohen,

Michael Cohen is in court today, to testify in the Trump civil fraud case. As the talking heads have said the obvious, Trump will be losing his fortune at the end of this trial. Not just because of Cohen's testimony, indeed there are a lot of things working against him. It's going to be rough going for Donald J. Trump when it comes to his finances and his freedom, and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

By the way, be sure to listen to Michael Cohen's Mea Culpa Podcast. It's really good!

“He frequently commented on the amount of money I had as a way to throw it in my face that he was so much richer than me. It was like water off a duck’s back to me, but it fed his need to demean people around him who had the temerity to get ahead in life; success was always a zero-sum game for him, and he and he alone had to be the winner.”

~Michael Cohen,

“Rudy Giuliani, William Barr, Jared Kushner, and Mike Pompeo are Trump’s new wannabe fixers, sycophants willing to distort the truth and break the law in the service of the Boss.”

~Michael Cohen,

“you actually give up your common sense, sense of decency, sensitivity, even your grip on reality. It was like having a mental illness: the reality was hard for outsiders to grasp, in all of its dimensions.”

~Michael Cohen,

#5 It May Look Like A Walnut

"Why are scary movies always in creepy places like jails and hospitals? I want a scary movie in Walmart.
'Clean up on aisle 13' "But sir... there is no aisle 13."

 **Cue Dramatic Music**

~Unknown

The Dick Van Dyke Show

 Season 2
 Episode 20

It May Look Like A Walnut

Does it get any better than this? Its the perfect sitcom Halloween episode. It's fun to scare yourself sometimes, and who doesn't love Walnuts and Danny Thomas?

ENJOY!

Next Or 4 Down 15 To Go...

“Behind every successful fortune there is a crime.”

~Mario Puzo

Did I call it? Or did I call it!  another co-conspirator has flipped on Donald Trump. Jenna Ellis brings the total to four. Three lawyers, and that bail bondsman. That leaves 15 left in the criminal pool, I find it hard to believe that we won't see more in the coming weeks, if not days. I don't think it will be Mark Meadows or Rudy Giuliani, they are both too stupid. Let me look into my crystal ball here, yes... my crystal ball tells me it's... Kanye West's former publicist, Trevian Kutti. But who knows? Maybe we will get the surprise of Rudy Giuliani growing a conscience. That would be good for everyone, including Rudy.

Trevian Kutti

Trump isn't having a very good week, and it's only Tuesday. Michael Cohen is on the witness stand as we speak, testifying in the New York fraud trial. He has the receipts to cause the complete collapse of the Trump fortune. That is worse for Donald Trump, in his eyes, money has seemingly been his sole focus his entire life. His only companion and only love. Not his siblings. Not his wives. Not his children. Not his friends, if he indeed has any, no one, just money. And as for those around him flipping, that's what you get when you surround yourself with sycophants.

Saturdays With The Cranes

“It looked like the world was covered
in a cobbler crust of brown sugar and cinnamon.”

~Sarah Addison Allen,

I love the Sandhill crane for so many reasons, but while my photographers hat is on, I have to say my favorite thing about them is how they seem to stop in midair as they are about to land. I love watching them come in. Can you stand me saying one more time that I LOVE them for every possible reason on this earth? Sorry, I am going to keep saying it, because it's autumn and I am in love!

Autumn Leaf Of The Day #33

“Anyone who has ever canoed on the upper Missouri River knows what a welcome sight a grove of cottonoods can be. They provide shade, shelter, and fuel. For Indian ponies, they provide food. For the Corps of Discovery, they provided wheels, wagons, and canoes.
Pioneering Lewis and Clark scholar Paul Russell Cutright pays the cottonwoods an appropriate tribute: 'Of all the wetern trees it contributed more to the success of the Expedition than any other. Lewis and Clark were men of great talent and resourcefulness, masters of ingenuity and improvisation. Though we think it probable that they would hae successfully crossed the continent without the cottonwood, don't as us how!”

#4 The Scariest Dishes 🧟‍♂️ For an Extraordinarily Frightening Halloween Pa...

''

“Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,—
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.”

~William Shakespeare

Autumn Leaf Of The Day #32

“Rather than turning over a new leaf,
prune your tree so that new leaves continue to blossom.”
~Feroz Bham
