Walmart, On A Saturday Afternoon

“Disagreement is one thing; disrespect is quite another.”

Richard V. Reeves

Sigh, Walmart on a Saturday afternoon.

In my time, since getting to know my wheelchair, Phoebe, I have seen a lot of things, this takes them all. I actually started a file a while back of of folks who park in handicapped spots, with no placard and no specialized plates. Sometimes it's been commercial vehicles, sometimes crooked parking, TRULY crooked parking, but three, able bodied bikers, with music playing at 200, just taking what they wanted, is about as disrespectful as it gets. But we live in a time of take what you want, do what you want, and there is also a turn toward disabled persons, such as myself, being cast aside. We don't matter anymore. I knew this would happen one day, Trump's disrespect for this community finally wore off on a certain class of people.

It's a no brainier, if you disrespect me, you are disrespecting yourself two fold. That act was not just disrespectful, it was illegal. So what else are they doing?

Saturdays With The Cranes

“It looked like the world was covered
in a cobbler crust of brown sugar and cinnamon.”

~Sarah Addison Allen,

I love the Sandhill crane for so many reasons, but while my photographers hat is on, I have to say my favorite thing about them is how they seem to stop in midair as they are about to land. I love watching them come in. Can you stand me saying one more time that I LOVE them for every possible reason on this earth? Sorry, I am going to keep saying it, because it's autumn and I am in love!

The Last Saturday Of Autumn

"I cannot bear to waste anything so precious
as autumnal sunshine by staying in the house."

Last Saturday was beautiful. It was the final Saturday of September, and there was no way I was going to miss the beautiful clouds dotting the sky or the warm autumn sun. One thing I have come to really love about the Central Valley, is the ease of which photos of the sky can be accomplished. There are lots of cool rural roads, that provide an awesome open sky. I miss the hills in the Bay Area, but once I got used to a new system of photographing my chosen subject, I found the new way of doing things really rewarding. Last Saturday was a really good day with the camera, I was happy with the results, I found lots of leaves, and it felt good to step outside my head for a while!

Hey look... a puppy dog!

Saturdays, Football, And Leaves

Fox Sports Robot "Cleatus"

"In football everything is complicated by the presence of the opposite team."

~Jean-Paul Sartre

Yesterday, Saturday, was an absolutely beautiful day in Berkeley! The sky was perfectly blue. The air was crisp and clear, and it was football day! I know... every Saturday this time of year is football day, but there is something about the first home game at Cal that makes it all so much fun! Yeah, at certain times the traffic can be a challenging, but at the same time there is a certain energy and excitement that can't be missed, and that can be really contagious! God I love it here! GO BEARS! :)

It also doesn't hurt that Berkeley is getting a big jump on autumn. Sometimes when I am out driving, I will turn a corner, and suddenly I feel like I am in the middle of autumn, rather than just on the edge of summer. Streets lined in bright greens, will suddenly burst with crimson! I could be having the worst day, and just turning down the right street brings me around to a wonderful sort of calm. So much slow that my sleeping will even improve that night. Look Ma... No Valium! LOL.

 It's hard to explain.

Autumn will officially be here in less than a week. Isn't that wonderful?

The Final Score: Ohio State (52) Cal Bears (34)
