Autumn Leaf Of The Day #55

flutters around the Autumn seeking its former nest."

Just An Autumn Caturday

"I believe cats to be spirits come to earth.
A cat, I am sure, could walk on a cloud without coming through."

~Jules Verne

Can you believe how much Tyler has grown? He was born sometime around the end of April, but we recognize his birthday on June 9th. That is Simon's birthday, and sadly it was the day Hendrix passed away. I will share a post about Simon soon, but first I will have to get him to settle down long enough to get a photo! He's like a live wire, but that's a good thing. Both kitties are healthy, and happy, and strong! They have arrived at that special age where it's time to get them neutered, and chipped, and that will happen next week. A lot of dogs and cats go missing in Stockton, if that ever happened to Joey, or Simon, or Tyler, I would be completely lost. They are all my honeylambs!

These birds are so unbelievably beautiful, that you should believe me when I say, I will never be able to photograph them in such that will pay justice to their grace. All I can do is try, and try again, but personally I know it can never be done. These birds live in my heart.

Autumn Leaf Of The Day #13

“November is usually such a disagreeable month...as if the year had suddenly found out that she was growing old and could do nothing but weep and fret over it. This year is growing old gracefully...just like a stately old lady who knows she can be charming even with gray hair and wrinkles. We've had lovely days and delicious twilights.”

~L.M. Montgomery,

This autumn's November, has leaves that are much more muted than in previous years, but there are also trees making a big show of the bright vivid colors hiding among it's other less showy colored leaves. Dogwood trees do that, as do Liquid amber, but I can always count on a particular tree, in Cull Canyon park to provide these lovely shaped yellow leaf clusters. They go from a dull greenish color of summer, to this bright, happy, Meyer lemon color. I wish I knew the name of the tree. I really need to try harder to learn my leaf identification. Hubby even suggested adding the names of the tree the leaves come from, to my leaf portraits next autumn. Good idea! But I better start learning them, beginning on the first day of winter!

Getting Lost In The Colors Of Autumn

"Enchantment and fulfillment were on the gold and garnet horizon... autumn's breath, a dormant dream reawakened, a yearning nearly satiated, a tender thank you with a brush of the lips, and a connection as fingers touch and go hand and hand."

~Donna Lynn Hope

I just want to concentrate on the colors of autumn and the sky. The spider webs I have seen, and the birds visiting for autumn and winter.

You know... real life.

IMPORTANCE: HIGH

At 11:52 PM...

And I am sure there will be more to come.

Autumn Leaf Of The Day #52

Gathering Leaves

Spades that up leaves
No better that spoons
And bags a full of leaves
Are light as balloons.

I make a great noise
Of rustling all day
Like a rabbit and deer
Running away.

Again and again
Till I fill the whole shed
And what have I then

Next to nothing for weight
And since they grew duller
From contact with earth
Next to nothing for color.

Next to see for use
But a crop is crop
And who's to say where
The harvest shall stop?

Autumn, Other Seasons

There is so much beauty in autumn and so much wisdom;
so much separation and so much sorrow!"

~Memet Murat ildan

I think it is time for some major changes to this blog. Frankly I am sick of how it looks! I will still be here, the Autumn Leaf Of The Day will still be here, but things will begin to look a bit different. It will just be under construction. Please bear with me.

Birds In Autumn

"A bird in autumn
sits outside
and quietly enjoys the rain

Dear bird
you and I
 are the same"

~Laura Jaworski

All the birds have their gorgeous winter plumage on right now. I look forward to that. I love how fluffy they become. Even the ones that don't really migrate, and who aren't so fluffy, adds to that autumn feeling of inner joy for me. The clear warm light in the middle of the day make them look bright and brings out all their colors, but by the late afternoon, the sunset turns their feathers a muted tone. I never realized how beautiful birds were, until I took up birding!

Autumn Leaf Of The Day #50

By late autumn, the yard would grow thick with fallen leaves, leaving the landlady to heave many deep sighs.

Autumn's Frustrations

"Sometimes I feel like a little spider that people want to squash under the soles of their boots, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why."

Rachelle E, Goodrich

for Every Day Of The Year

I wish people would stop doing this! Are they parked in a handicapped spot, no, but they are parked well into the hashmarks, which is illegal, and it did not allow me the room to get out of my car with the wheelchair next to my door. So, I remained in the car, while hubby checked to see if there were any birds in the fields behind the parking lot. It's not like their weren't any other spots for them to park in, in fact I could have moved down to one of the empty spots, but I decided to leave anyway, it all just took the wind out of my sails.

Look, it didn't kill me to wait in the car, but what about paratransit vehicle's that give rides to folks from nursing homes and specialty care centers, so that they can maybe enjoy the fresh air, and a visit to the observation deck to see birds? That's what the hashmark are for! To all ow the transit vehicles more room. This FUCK YOU attitude that's been adopted by everyone, since Trump made it onto the national political scene, makes me sick! Don't be like Trump. You will eventually hate yourself for it! But by that time, everyone else will hate you too!

Autumn Stratus And Nimbus

"Sometimes places, create inhuman monsters."
~Stephen King
The Shining

Living in America, sometimes feels like we are all, average republican or democrat, living in the Overlook Hotel, and it's hauntings come at us daily. The demons are diseases, and the lack of SNAP benefits, the mass firing of researchers at the CDC and so many more things that I can't count represent the two little girls in the hallway! The last Covid-19 information gathered was a couple months ago, and it named two variants, Nimbus and Stratus. I've had "Captain Tripp's" twice now, and it's left my body with Long Covid. I am falling asleep three hours after I wake up, my hair is falling out, and my taste buds, after 4 years, is still bothering me. I don't want to get it again, but it seems inevitable. Why doesn't MAGA see it? Why doesn't MAHA see it? Trump couldn't care less about our health. He doesn't care about whether or not anyone eats, and while all this pain is happening, he is throwing Great Gatsby parties, and showing off whatever hideous plans he has for the white house decor. What happens when Covid-19 evolves into a variant we can't treat, and he ignores it's presence because he doesn't want to look bad? I've tried really hard to stay informed, now there is virtually no data.

"Maybe he sells fear, because he has nothing else to sell."
