Wizards And Their Advocates

“All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible.”

~Frank Herbert

An appellate court lowed his bond this morning, because, of course they did!

A statement, following the decision, was released by N.Y. Attorney General Letitia James...

The wizard does it again!

When will all of Trump's misdeeds finally catch up with him? I can feel it in my bones. He will be reelected. He has the support of 40% of Americans, which is not enough to be reelected, but all Trump really needs is to secure the electoral college to win in the fall.

Still, this happened.

Will this be the case that finally sees him receive no special treatment? Should I have any faith in this being the criminal case that he won't squeeze out of? How many judges and witnesses does he have in his pocket? How many members of Congress? How many politicians? How much of the military? How many in law enforcement? That's one thing I appreciate about Judge Aileen Cannon, she doesn't attempt to hide her corruption when it comes to Trump. You know she will shield him as much as possible!

On to April 15th.

Unnecessary

“You can’t listen for more than one minute.”

~Donald J. Trump

How rich is that quote? It was so unnecessary for Trump to accuse Judge Engoron of not listening to him, as he offered his own closing arguments in his New York fraud trial. Judge Engoron didn't even have to let Trump speak, but when has the word NO ever mattered to that loser? I would laugh, but it's just too damn pathetic. Sometimes,  however, I verge on feeling sorry for him. He is a train wreck in general, but he is more than anything else, a sad, demented, hollow man, and I dread the day Hollywood makes a movie about the era we are living through. I just hope, when the eventual movie is made, it will accurately reflect how Trump brought all his troubles on himself, by doing one unnecessary action after another. He is the most unnecessary man who has ever lived. When will I wake up from this dream? Umm... nightmare?

Ivank Trump... I Don't Recall

Finally, Ivanka Trump testifies, and the prosecution rests, with the option of recalling certain previous witnesses. She didn't cause any moments of wow, it was either, I don't recall, I am not sure, or she admitted to whatever was asked of her. Sigh. The drama resumes tonight with Donald Trumps big fancy speech, designed to interrupt the next Republican debate, and Monday when his witnesses begin to testify. But both sides have planned motions and Trump's side may ask for a directed verdict. Sigh. The circus continues.

So fucking tedious.

Happy Halloween 2023

October's Party
 By: George Cooper

October gave a party; The leaves by hundreds came— The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples, And leaves of every name. The Sunshine spread a carpet, And everything was grand, Miss Weather led the dancing, Professor Wind the band.

The Chestnuts came in yellow, The Oaks in crimson dressed; The lovely Misses Maple In scarlet looked their best; All balanced to their partners, And gaily fluttered by; The sight was like a rainbow New fallen from the sky.

Then, in the rustic hollow, At hide-and-seek they played, The party closed at sundown, And everybody stayed. Professor Wind played louder; They flew along the ground; And then the party ended In jolly hands around.

Halloween At The White House
( October 30th 2023 )

It's the last day of October, which is, of course all Hallows Eve, but it is also the mid-point of autumn, and simply the last day of the longest month of this year.At least it was the longest month of the year to me anyway. It's been just a sad month, with the war in the middle east, the mass shooting in Maine, and the death of Matthew Perry. Connected to the war, is the rise of antisemitism on collage campuses, and other places throughout the country. Do I blame October? No. not really, it's just that I think I put too much faith that one month out of the year to lift my spirits high enough to pull me from all the sadness and frustration that has built up throughout the rest of the year.

Will November be better? That remains to be seen. But I am looking forward to the clock changing, and bringing with it, shorter days. It's better for viewing sunsets and Sandhill crane. I love the dark rainy days. I love the yummy recipes I am always inspired to try. I love other fall things, such as football, the holidays, and the leaf peeping. I have a great place to begin November with, you see, we are planning to visit Mount Diablo in search of the California Condors, and a trip to Placerville and Auburn are also on the agenda for this week. There is a lot that can lift the stress off of me, and I am going to welcome all of it, so we will see.

But for now, l am going to enjoy the Hell out of Halloween. Alan and I are going out to lunch later today, something we haven't done in years. The Arroyo Cafe, here in Stockton. I already know I will be order the cheese enchiladas. They are delicious. A lunch out at Don Jose's Mexican restaurant, in Castro Village, was one of our most loved traditions in the Bay Area, but then we moved out here, and we let go of the tradition like so many other little events we would do in our former life. But it's all just a matter of searching for what we loved, and revisiting what made us, well, us. This will be an excellent start. We are getting older now, life is absolutely changing, but that doesn't mean everything has to.

So, on to the business of living in the moment. It's Halloween, and we have a ton of movies all lined up. I will tell you more about it all tomorrow, and show off our awesome Jack-o-lantern. He's a pretty little thing. And hey, if nothing else, the baby Trump's will be in New York, testifying in the civil fraud suit. The one involving the business of all things Trump, like his exaggeration of the value of his various properties and personal wealth. It should be interesting, if for no other reason, then to see if Donald Trump can keep his big mouth shut in front of the judge!

Stay tuned!

By the way, I spotted these on X and thought they were funny.
I hope you do too, dear reader, and if you don't... shrug.

I made this one...

His Mea Culpa

“I know where the skeletons are buried
because I was the one who buried them.”

~Michael Cohen,

Michael Cohen is in court today, to testify in the Trump civil fraud case. As the talking heads have said the obvious, Trump will be losing his fortune at the end of this trial. Not just because of Cohen's testimony, indeed there are a lot of things working against him. It's going to be rough going for Donald J. Trump when it comes to his finances and his freedom, and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

By the way, be sure to listen to Michael Cohen's Mea Culpa Podcast. It's really good!

“He frequently commented on the amount of money I had as a way to throw it in my face that he was so much richer than me. It was like water off a duck’s back to me, but it fed his need to demean people around him who had the temerity to get ahead in life; success was always a zero-sum game for him, and he and he alone had to be the winner.”

~Michael Cohen,

“Rudy Giuliani, William Barr, Jared Kushner, and Mike Pompeo are Trump’s new wannabe fixers, sycophants willing to distort the truth and break the law in the service of the Boss.”

~Michael Cohen,

“you actually give up your common sense, sense of decency, sensitivity, even your grip on reality. It was like having a mental illness: the reality was hard for outsiders to grasp, in all of its dimensions.”

~Michael Cohen,

Next Or 4 Down 15 To Go...

“Behind every successful fortune there is a crime.”

~Mario Puzo

Did I call it? Or did I call it!  another co-conspirator has flipped on Donald Trump. Jenna Ellis brings the total to four. Three lawyers, and that bail bondsman. That leaves 15 left in the criminal pool, I find it hard to believe that we won't see more in the coming weeks, if not days. I don't think it will be Mark Meadows or Rudy Giuliani, they are both too stupid. Let me look into my crystal ball here, yes... my crystal ball tells me it's... Kanye West's former publicist, Trevian Kutti. But who knows? Maybe we will get the surprise of Rudy Giuliani growing a conscience. That would be good for everyone, including Rudy.

Trevian Kutti

Trump isn't having a very good week, and it's only Tuesday. Michael Cohen is on the witness stand as we speak, testifying in the New York fraud trial. He has the receipts to cause the complete collapse of the Trump fortune. That is worse for Donald Trump, in his eyes, money has seemingly been his sole focus his entire life. His only companion and only love. Not his siblings. Not his wives. Not his children. Not his friends, if he indeed has any, no one, just money. And as for those around him flipping, that's what you get when you surround yourself with sycophants.

Next...

Stay tuned!

Failure To Delete

Donald John Trump

He did it again. He was told to take down a series of posts on on social media, and beyond, harassing a court clerk of Judge Engoran, who is presiding over the New York civil fraud trial. He didn't. The offending  post remained on his campaign website... for the last 17 days. Sigh.
More to come, but, I really don't see him getting to New Year's Eve without serving some sort of jail time. He can't keep his mouth shut, or follow simple directions. He just can't.

And fucking unhinged is this?

Update...
