I think most Americans understand, and cherish, Canada as much as they should. Hell, ever Sarah Palin showed some fondness for Canada, when she shared her admiration for their health care, which she benefitted from when she was a child.

We get so much from Canada, not the least of which has been their unwavering support and friendship as a trading partner. The fought alongside us after 9/11 and have partnered in NATO. In fact, Canada supplies America some of the electricity Americans depend on. But I am sure Donald Trump realized none of that, when he took office. He has continuously threatened to take over Canada militarily, and make Canada the 51st state! Canada, by contrast, has been patient with the crazy, but it's was clear when the latest tariff fuss came to a fiery end, that Canada feels Trump's behavior can no longer tolerated. Thank God! 

Stand tall, Canada! Do what you have to do to fight Trump's attempts at fascism! But don't forget, Americans love you, Trump is alone in all this nonsense! Mostly. Remember, there will be better days.

Well, this can't be good. I have my doubts about that post attributed to Marjorie Taylor Greene, but it's being covered by several respected news outlets, but the New York Times was not one of them. We live in an age when miscalculations could suddenly thrust us into all out war, nuclear or otherwise. On the other hand, if MTG knows something, and speaking up can save an entire world, then you go girl! At the end of the day, we also live in a world where Facebook and X is where people go for their news. I didn't hear word one about this on MS NOW, which is my main source for news, but there's always tomorrow. Who the fuck knows? But it wouldn't surprise me.

Donald Trump is loyal to no one. He always has put himself on a golden throne, as he is a king in his own mind. While folks have sat back and laughed and smirked at the at the way Trump has treated people over the years, both the loyal and disloyal alike, they never imagine that one day Trump will chew them up, and spit them out, despite of their being a long history of just that. In the last few days, Trump has thrown two Department of Justice figures under the bus, Todd Blanche and Jeannie Pirro. Both are about to see their careers ruined, and the very real possibility of at least one of them will being disbarred. Everything Trump touches dies, and right now the careers of anyone in his orbit and in particularly the ones who tell the truth or refuse to do his bidding will be the next to go.

Okay, Trump will deliver his big fancy speech tonight, and I am not ready for his stupidity, but whether or not I like it, it's coming. Putting all things in perspective, he can say he's going to do something, but that doesn't mean he will be able to do it. Like declaring California primaries null and void, or imposing restrictions on the use of mail=in ballots. The law is quite clear that the Federal government can't stick it's nose into how the states run their elections, if he tries, there will more than likely be lawsuits. Also, Gavin Newsome has prepared for this that kind of nonsense. When it comes to Trump possibly declaring that the 2020 election was rigged, it wasn't, Joe Biden won, it's simply a continuation of his usual boring whine. IT'S NOT FAIR! Of course, there is the possibility that all he will just come to say that he is backing, Mike Lindell, the pillow guy, for governor of Minnesota. See, he did that yesterday, but Trump does seem to prattle on when he thinks he's been clever! Nah, Trump won't share the limelight with anyone, he's the big boy! I mean, he's the man who couldn't even allow America to be the star of the 250th year of signing of the Declaration of Independence! What a sad child he is.

On May 23rd, 2007, Rosie O'Donnell, and Elizabeth Hasselbeck, engaged in an argument so profound, that it ended up being Rosie's last day as moderator of ABC'S, The View. It was tough, and embarrassing to watch as the viewer, but it was hard to look away from. It was about more than politics, it was about respect in the workplace, friendship, and yes, changing political behaviors, beginning, in my opinion, with the Bush administration, when right-wing media reveled in the brutalities of opinion, and the ignorance of the voter/viewer. Back when politics encouraged division at all cost, and that is what has gotten us to this point. I have often said that you can lay the blame on Sarah Palin, and her ridiculous Tea Party Patriots, for the state of our nation, but in looking back at this old clip, I see a lot more was involved. And thank goodness we had that show that day, and thank god we have it now to refer back to, because at the time, we had no idea how lucky we were in that moment. We got to watch the argument happen, and decide for ourselves what was at the core.

Fast forward, and it's suddenly, June 16th, 2015, and Donald Trump, seizing on the dangerous political rise of fuck you politics, rides down a fake golden escalator, and into American political history, as the first gameshow host in history to become president, in his first term, and the first convicted felon, to be elected to a second term. America, it seems, has quite the sense of humor! All joking aside, Donald Trump has been sticking his big nose into just about every area of our lives, including popular culture. He's sued the networks, accepted bribes in order to insure the successful merging of Paramount with Warner Bros/Discovery. David Ellison's wet dream is to  have eventual control of, Paramount, CNN, HBO, Warner Brother's, Discovery, and CBS. To that end, CBS has been kissing Donald Trump's ample butt! He waves a wand and David Ellison, and his minions, such as Bari Weiss, give him whatever he wants within the network, including the firings of Steven Colbert and Scott Pelley. It's embarrassing for them, and depressing for us. Gone are two important and powerful voices who spoke truth to power! CBS is dying, they just haven't pulled the plug yet.

ABC, who is also under constant threat from Donald Trump, hasn't been so easy to be kicked around. Jimmy Kimmel was yanked off the air last year, for one night, as the weak willed network caved to Trump's demands, not only with Kimmel, but with settling a multi-million dollar lawsuit, which most legal experts said the network could have won easily due to a lack of merit. They capitulated to him as they would a school yard bully, and in true bully fashion he keeps coming back for more. But wait... not so fast! ABC, which is owned by Disney, is now saying, ENOUGH! And what did it take? It took the insistence that, The View, change it's content to suit his liking, or face investigations by Trump's FCC, putting licensing of company owned stations on the line. Well, the network, and The View, is having none of it! They are fighting back, and it will more than likely play out over the summer. 

I suppose that saying the mouse has found his balls is a bit harsh. After all, the mouse found himself in uncharted waters, just like the rest of us, and they seem to be taking a stand now... finally... I just hope when all is said and done, they will never cave to the bully again. I don't know, maybe they see that everything has been failing for Trump, hard. In the last few weeks, his vanity projects. His hillbilly smackdown on the east lawn of the White House, and to a devastating effect, the war by choice in Iran. 13 lives... gone. A girls school in Iran bombed, and yes, he is trying to not take responsibility for, and last year the illegal tariffs, that threatened to bring down the world economy. Did I mention the reflecting pond? If the Democrats manage to take both the senate and the congress, impeachment and possibly removal, will be in his future. Please, God, Please. Of course that's assuming he won't try another coup on November 3rd.

On the night of May 31st, 2017, the whole world came together and shared a single point of wonder. We were all wondering, what the actual fuck, did Trump mean when he Tweeted, Covfefe? We never did get an actual explanation about what happened that night, and what it regarded, but I watched it happen real time and let me tell you, there were some very interesting ideas about what it could have meant. Everything from it was the nuclear codes, to his form of swearing, but substituting the word COVFEFE for the word, FUCK. In any case, the word remained on Trump's Twitter account for hours with no explanation. But here is what the White House had to say later in the day...

It apparently shocked everyone. No Shit! It was one of the first overt signs that Donald Trump was beginning to lose whatever was left of his mental faculties! Since that time there has been a flood of evidence that he is incapable of being a full and effective president, as demonstrated daily, with his obsession with vanity projects. But boy howdy, that night and the following day sure was a ride, and as it just might have been the beginning of what brought us to where we are now. Sky high gas prices, sky high daily living prices, and folks thrown off the medical coverage. Not to mention the current Iran war, started with no clear end in sight, and Trump eyeing another war with Cuba. Before he left office the first time, Trump suggested drinking disinfectant might cure Covid-19, you'd think that would have been enough for folks to see that his lights had now dimmed, but no, so all these years later we have that fond memory and a million more like it to keep us warm until the next night of Covfefe.

While Covfefe is not an official word in the Merriam-Webster or Oxford dictionaries, I thought the holiday was still worth a mention this week. Covfefe made quite the impression on culture, banking speculation, and even it's own legislation with the Covfefe ACT. While the it never became law, I think there is merit in revisiting the idea! I hope one day Covfefe will be an official word, so it can join a long list of the silly, archaic, political words, in the official word graveyard. On the other hand, there's a lot that can be learned from that word, so maybe we should be listening closer to the nonsensical. Hey, why not, Words With Friends, sees some value in it!

 When it comes to Donald Trump, and his sycophants, they could best be described as suffering from Empleomania, rather than the drive to serve their constituents. Holding onto public office is their main concern, but not for the greater good. This past week was quite the eye opener, he finally actually admitted more than once, that he doesn't care about how the economy affects the American people. He enjoys winning at all cost, using everyone to achieve the win. It's all a game to him. Will the MAGA gullible believe him yet again? It amuses him to find out, as he basks in his own mania. Holding public office, provides him with the attention he craves.

And then learn from the situation, like the victims of Trump University, or any of the vendors and charities he stiffed over the years. You have at least 600,000 friends and neighbors who, like you, believed one of his scams. Become a smarter person now. Trump crypto was another massive scam. It is currently going for about $2.33 cents, down from it's all time high of $73.43 in January of 2025. Trump Media's all time high stock price of $97.54, on March 4th, 2022, has fallen to it's current low of $8.82 cents in today's premarket.

Donald Trump is a dangerous man, who will stop at nothing to destroy America and all we stand for. I know that only a few people read my blog anymore, so perhaps I am screaming into the void, but please, if you are still MAGA, but you have been catching him in lies, and grifting, please consider for a moment, whether or not, I am your enemy, just because I am a Democrat and I see Trump for who he is. I don't know that the midterms will be the great savior for us. Impeachment could happen as early as a year from now, but that will simply put J.D. Vance in office, and we all know where he stands. Just read the Project 2025 agenda. We are losing more and more every day, and we will continue to lose as long as we don't get proactive. We tried to warn you before, please hear us now!

It's starts with the little things. Usually so little, no one notices. Like with the fine print... one day you realize you will probably never get that phone you bought, or your money back either.
