As Maggie Haberman Puts It, Trump's Binky

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread, winding it's way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that, 'my ignorance means just as much as your knowledge. "

~Isaac Asimov

This is so stupid and salacious I don't even want to think about it, but it is now apart of history, so here were are. This woman, Natalie Harp, is in love with Trump. How? Why? Who knows, but it's fairly apparent that she is. From ridiculous love letters, that spooked the Secret Service, to her hiding out in trunks of government SUVs to be with him, it's plainly clear that this young lady has a screw loose. As Maggie Haberman of the, New York Times, put it recently, Natalie Harp is Trump's binky. Her main function is to run his social media accounts, and feed him cool stories about himself. Trump is an 80 year old man, with failing health and who is in obvious mental decline, but what is her excuse? Why is she so gaga over a man so misogynistic, mean spirited, and cruel towards others, women in particular? A liar whose, at last count, has told well over 34,000 lies since jumping into the world of national politics. The number is more than likely higher than that! You'd think that hearing him call a female reporter, "piggy" would be enough to tarnish that devotion, but apparently not, she is his faithful Girl Friday. Available to answer his every whim, and reassure his fragile ego that he did indeed win the 2020 election. Oh yeah, and that he's better looking now then when he was in his 30's and his dick is 12 inches long. There's only one thing left to ask about this bizarre circumstance, does Laura Loomer know she has a rival?

He's Sorry

"I justified my wrongs, Apology has lost it's song."

~Amogh Swamy
On my way to infinity: A Seekers Poetic Pilgrimage

Tucker Carlson is on an apology tour, having suddenly seen the light about Donald Trump, the way Marjorie Taylor Greene did! And he seems to think that by saying he's sorry,  it's going to make up for the pain he's caused in the last decade! The pain of all the lies he's told. January 6th, brought to light what Carlson truly thought about Trump, and the world was shocked about the lie's he told, but even more surprised about how he reunited with, and then campaigned for, Trump yet again in 2024! No, it wasn't just Tucker's campaigning for Trump that got him elected, he's simply one of the political opportunists that decided that it was all about ratings, and for that reason, I need to hear more about his how sorry he is about all the other lies he's told.

His lies go well beyond his endorsement of Donald Trump. Here are just a few of his bold faced lies, that have hurt many, many people. And he wants to apologize for misleading his audience about, Donald Trump? Weak willed people believe podcasters and influencers, and he knew that. I'm sorry? No, I expect he sees the writing on the wall. Trump will either be impeached, be removed by way of the 25th Amendment, or resign due to his health, and Tucker wants to keep his audience, so he sways along with whichever political wind blows past him. Afterall, he makes around 20 million per year to lie to his gullible nation. For the love of money.

Nicolle Wallace, and her guests say, it best.

Numbers

"A fool and his money are soon parted."

~Dr. John Bridges

Truth! Certain foolish Americans, MAGA in particular, voted for Donald Trump because he was a successful businessman. That still makes me laugh because a simple Google search would have told them a wildly different story. The true story of Trump is, he was just as deep a bottomless pit of incompetence as a businessman, as he is a president. Just since his declaring war on Iran, and as of the writing of this post, in the premarket, oil surging to about, $78 per barrel, and the Dow is falling, it's currently down, -533,00 (1.09%). Shit his own stock sucks. And now he's trying to run this war with Iran, the way he did his businesses. He will fail at war too, and then what?

It's all such a damn joke.

 A dangerous one.

When will folks wake up?

He lied to them about everything!

Thoughts And Prayers For The American Gestapo

"We cannot violence by blaming it's victims. We are in a culture of victim blaming and victim shaming, where the wounded are questioned more than the more then the one's who wounded them, because responsibility scares a society built on denial."

Breaking News: No Sympathy For Rudy Giuliani

"Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent."

 ~Terry Goodkind

No pity. No feeling sorry for Rudy Giuliani. NO SYMPATHY! I only feel compassion, love and deep respect for Ruby Freeman, and Shaye Moss. I hope their future is filled with the comfort they deserve, the kindness they are due, and the respect they deserve. I am so proud of them for seeing this process through. I wish them a wonderful future!

“Be skeptical, ask questions, demand proof. Demand evidence. Don't take anything for granted. But here's the thing: When you get proof, you need to accept the proof. And we're not that good at doing that.”

~Michael Specter

17, 990 people died because of Donald Trump. THIS DRUG DID NOT AND WOULD NOT WORK! I knew it then, and I know it now, and so does everyone else, well, not the dead obviously. Donald John Trump is a fucking, opportunistic MONSTER, and I just know if he is reelected he will cause even more folks to lose their lives. I pray that those going to the polls next November will remember not just him telling a frightened America to drink bleach, but that he encouraged American's to take Hydroxychloroquine when he knew there was NO PROOF it would be effective against Covid-19.

"What do you have to lose? Take it."

~Donald John Trump

When was Trump diagnosed with Covid-19?

Please read the article in Politico.

And then watch the video below.

Here is the current trends from the CDC data tracker. Please check it out. Please Mask up. Please seriously consider getting you vaccinations caught up.

Here is a map of states with the highest Covid rates.

Please take care of yourselves. We all have the information at this point, don't get complacent. Don't think for a moment this thing is gone. It's not. It continues to mutate, and it will do so for years. I am fairly sure I only have about 15 visitors, give or take, but I care about all of you. I don't need a big audience. I am just grateful for all who visit my posts.

Thank you.

Hanging On By A Blue Egret

"As a species we're fundamentally insane. Put more than two of us in a room, we pick sides and start dreaming up reasons to kill one another. Why do you think we invented politics and religion?

~Stephen King

I was retired from political observation, right? Joe Biden being elected president would fix my need to drown myself in political scandal, intrigue, and tragedy... right? Okay, there would be the occasional hiccup, but that's to be expected. January 20th is the day I begin to heal from all I have feared the last 5 1/2 years. I will be able to sleep again. I'm going to take a six month nap, because the man who blew himself up on Christmas Day was a one-off. I will smile again. Sleep again. Eat without a pit in my stomach. No more feeling like I have to have MSNBC in every room that has a TV in it, because I am terrified that an idiot president might launch the nuclear codes.

What Was I thinking?

Yesterday, In The News

*As it turns out, if we haven't gotten our second stimulus check, we more than likely won't. We will have to apply for a credit on our tax return. That wasn't part of the deal. I mean, how exactly does that stimulate the economy? It was such a small amount that we were planning on using it to pay the taxes anyway, but it would have been nice to be able to at least put it in the safe in case something bad happens between now and April 15th. Thanks Mnuchin. And Trump.

*GOP leader Kevin McCarthy went to Florida for an audience with Donald Trump. A couple weeks ago, McCarthy said Trump was to blame for the attack on the Capitol.

*The Justice Department is warning of violence breaking out, before, during or after the upcoming Impeachment trial.

*This past week, Donald Trump created, "Office Of The Former President." Which is a new one. Ordinarily, former presidents simply go away and enjoy the rest of their lives. Not Cheeto-Jesus. He is apparently planning to insinuate himself into our lives for sometime to come.

*Not to be outdone, Melania Trump hired two assistants yesterday, to help her continue her work with her "Be Best" campaign. Again, most first ladies go quietly about their lives, in civilian life, and allow the incoming first lady to handle her new duties and platform without interruption or competition for attention.

Donald Trump's supporters continue to believe that Joe Biden stole the election. He didn't, but that's not good enough for the cultists. They truly believe the lie. They believe their leader, because that's what unstable folks do. They believe the lie at all costs. Jobs, family, friends, neighbors, life in general ceases to matter, just their leader and achieving their ultimate goals. In this case, human life appears to matter very little to these folks. The goal must happen at all costs. See, Jonestown, The Branch Dividian Church, or Heaven's Gate cults. None of them ended without bloodshed. And a lot of devastated families. Life has repeated itself too many times, in my lifetime, to not notice the similarities with the Trump cult.

Sigh.

I want to be wrong, but I am terrified. All I want is a quiet life. For some rest from the lunacy of the last four years, and to have a little hope that societal and political tensions will calm. Politics will always be batshit, and it's never been for the faint of heart, but the level of stress and fear I have felt have had a detrimental affect on not just my mental health, but on my physical health as well. I am scared to death that I will never be able to live my life, without a Trump, somewhere, affecting every single day. I just want it to be over, now that it is over.

This past week I got to rest. I read a little from a new book I purchased. We watched some movies. I ate a little better. I did some photography, and listened to some music. I started a new playlist on Spotify. Encouraged a friend. All that sounds great, right? But little by little the fear has crept back in, as more unfolds about what all is happening in our American existence. America is a dark place to live, and it's getting darker. Trump, and some of his minions are off social media, so at least Twitter is a lot nicer place to be, but the batshit just never stops, and it is a concern of mine, that for it to stop, something tragic will have to take place. I am afraid we are going to see another day like 9/11, and the powers that be on the right, see it coming too, but don't care, because they are still scared to death of Donald Trump.

So, what's a more than causal observer of politics to do? I can care, or I can be the person who refuses see the unpleasantness so they can look away. Well, if those are my choices, you know where I fall. I have never been able to ignore politics. When I see the rise of fascism, the granting of credibility to conspiracy theories and attempted coups of America, how exactly do I look away? I can't. But I may try to find some balance. After all, Trump isn't in power... Biden is. I have my reading. My venting here. Autumn images. And I have my bird watching. All things I am currently enjoying. Although, bird watching is probably my favorite of the activities I mentioned. Sigh. The problem is, some days I feel like I am just barely hanging on by a blue egret.

December Is In Autumn Too!

"It's December, and no one asked if I was ready."

~Sarah Kay

It's December. It's cold. It began snowing in the Sierras just before Halloween, so even the Central Valley is keenly aware, it's cold! But at least it's not hot! I dislike HOT more than COLD because I can't think straight in hot weather. Cold weather tends to leave me in a great deal of pain, but at least I can think again. This year... well... I wish I wasn't thinking straight, or as clearly. I am grieving the election, and I have almost NO patience for stupidity. But let's not dwell. How about we do something different and focus on Christmas. Ornaments. Holiday lights and the fact that while it is December, it's still autumn. So leaves! Isn't it funny that more of December is in autumn than winter, yet winter seems to claim it!

 Lies... lies I tell you!
But I digress!

The Consequence Of Your Illusions

"The consequence of your illusions is your reality."

~Steven Redhead
Life Is Simply A Game

I didn't realize, when I photographed this red crayon, that it cast a bit of an illusion. It seems to be floating! It isn't of course, but it's sort of fun, so I thought I would post it here as a metaphor for the national election we all just experienced!

Donald Trump, and his campaign, has just as much as admitted that they didn't think he would win on election night... then he did! Now what? Well, if you have been paying attention, it seems the transition is, well, unorganized at best, in total chaos more than likely!

I don't know for sure how I would feel if I were a Trump supporter, and I found out that he had such little faith in his own campaign that not only did he think he would lose, but that he hadn't even considered how his transition would work. It seems like something that would be at least sketched out after the nomination was clinched. At least in some basic way. But they didn't! So...

Surprise!
You are now the leader of the free world!
 Shit just got real!

What promises did you make to your supporters, that you now need to keep? Are you going to lock up Hillary Clinton? Are you going to go after ISIS on your first day in office and completely stamp them out? Are you going to completely repeal the Affordable Care Act? Donald Trump said he would do a lot of things, but it doesn't seem likely he will do any of them. Actually, I take that back somewhat. He will futz around with the tax code, mostly to his benefit, but as for infrastructure... forget about it! Job creation cannot be guaranteed, and neither can building that wall.

I wonder what it will feel like, to be a Trump supporter, a year from now? Will they be happy with what the new president manages to accomplish? Will they have a strong sense of buyers remorse? Who knows? Right now they are still on the childlike or childish high of watching the red crayon float just above the table! It's all an illusion, and deep down they knows that's true, but sometimes folks just want to be lied to, and in that I feel bad for them! I really do! Nothing hurts worse that finding out you have been played for a fool, and deep down you knew it, but you just couldn't bring yourself turn away from the lie.

The fact that one day Trump supporters realize that they have been sold an illusion, a lie, is small comfort. It's no comfort all really. When the truth becomes painfully aware to all, it will already be too late. Trump is completely unqualified for the presidency, and therefore he will make big mistakes. Mistakes with consequences. Deadly ones I fear. And it will be too late for "I'm sorry" and "I told you so." It will be too late. Too late.

Just focus on the floating red crayon, and get lost in the illusion.

Brian Williams Lied

"You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees, and the stars.
In the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul."

~Max Ehrmann

This year, 2015, is turning out to be no more rational, no more explainable, than last year was. Something clicked in me last year, early in the year, as we transitioned from one disaster to another, which made me believe that one day, perhaps midnight on New Year's Eve, everything would suddenly make sense. Plane crashes, gifted people overdosing, police shooting unarmed children. Planes shot down from the sky. Suicide. Not one bit of it made sense to me. NOT ONE BIT!

So, I had a million or so questions, and very few answers. I had high hopes for 2015. As the clock struck midnight, suddenly, everything would fall into place, every question would be answered. How could my thinking be so immature? Of course the answers wouldn't just come to me, or anyone else for that matter. Life doesn't make any sense, starting with each defying the odds of being conceived, and actually making it into the world we share? What was I thinking? NOTHING MAKES SENSE!

I remember when it used to, but then again, I think I recall the same lament from my parents! But when they complained, I took them aside and explained the Walkman to them, and the remote, and answering machines, and VCRs and microwave ovens and so on.

So, I am going to pretend you, my followers, are my children and ask you...

Q. Why did Brian Williams have to tell that stupid lie?

I always liked him.

I still like him. He's human. But now he is a little more human then he used to be.

A Photo A Day For 6 Months: Day 179~ LIES AND RUMORS OF LIARS

"Freedom isn't free. It shouldn't be a bragging point that "Oh, I don't get involved in politics," as if that makes you somehow cleaner. No, that makes you derelict of duty in a republic. Liars and panderers in government would have a much harder time of it if so many people didn't insist on their right to remain ignorant and blindly agreeable."

~Bill Maher

The sentiment in the above photo is a blatant, ignorant, LIE! Obama isn't Hitler. Hitler killed over 6 million people. Obama hasn't. And to the best of my knowledge, he bares no real comparison to Hitler in any way. This is a LIE made up by a sick mind. You think there might me some kind of 9/11 conspiracy? I am willing to listen, but not when this kind of destructive bullshit accompanies your theory. Don't do this. You look stupid. I think you are stupid. Anyone who can still think clearly thinks you are stupid. If you want to work for the country you say you love, help others get to the polls on Tuesday. If you want to work for the country you say you love, work to help America overturn Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commission. Individual states have already made some headway toward lessening it's power. I think the Disclose Act is a good idea... don't you?

Maybe in your passion to work for the country you say you love, you could ask yourself...

If I have to LIE. If I have to create a deception in order to see a positive change... but wait... a deception isn't a good thing... hmmm... can I fight for my principles without compromising my values?

If the only answer you can come up with is NO...

Get the HELL away from my blog, and DON'T COME BACK!

I don't even want to know a coward like you!

If you can find the courage to commit yourself to working with others in honesty.

THANK YOU for making the world a better place. I am proud of you!

With this election, like no other I can remember in my lifetime, it's about dispelling the lies and the fear and the bullshit.

Choose with courage.

Lies are Lies no matter who tells them.

A Photo A Day For 6 Months: Day 178~ Falling Back Into Politics

"Loyalty to country ALWAYS. Loyalty to government when it deserves it."

~Mark Twain

Okay, time to discuss the subject I have been avoiding... avoiding with a passion... POLITICS. There was a time when I lived and breathed it. I watched a lot of analysis. Read a lot of opinion. Did a lot of researched into it. I formed my beliefs and opinions as I searched for facts. I wanted to know why I believed a certain way about things. I smiled when I remembered that my first ever crush was when I was 3 and I fell HARD for Hubert Humphrey. Was it his looks? Well, no. Was it his voice? Well, no. Was it his political fighting style? Well, no. Personally, I think it was the fact that when Hubert Humphrey campaigned for the office of president, my father had one less worry line on his face just imagining a democrat in office. Well... and yes... as politicians went, he was kinda nice looking. But it meant a lot to me that my father saw some HOPE in him.

It wasn't to be, and the rest is history.

But while that elections and history was being made, California, and the Bay Area specifically, was also making history. The massacre at Berkeley's People's Park left a deep hole in the heart of the Bay Area. It's something that's never been fully forgotten, and it nor should it. If nothing else it should serve as the strongest of cautionary tales about not taking political choices for granted. It should be a stark reminder that just because someone says they are a democrat, it doesn't mean they actually hold any democratic principles. in 1969 Ronald Reagan trick-or-treated as a democrat, then called in the National Guard to bring their tear gas and weapons to enforce the government stealing of Peoples Park and the active silencing of Freedom of Speech. By the time it was all said and done, 1 person was dead, one person permanently blinded, dozens more injured, and Berkeley permanently scarred.

You can see some amazing photos of the changes California went through in the 1960's, including the People's Park incident right here... Picture This: California's Perspective On American History.

The next National Election is only 2 days away. I have a lot more I want to say in the next couple days. If it's too big a bummer to tune in, I get it. Believe me. I get it! I have done a good bit of ignoring all the nonsense and useless chatter the last few months, but I now find myself incredibly frustrated as we head into Tuesday. But I also find myself incredibly grateful for some things as well. Like Chris Christie putting party politics aside to give credit where it is due. I am glad that Donald  Trump got called on the car floorboard by Chrysler executive, Ralph Gilles, because of Trump's lies about Jeep sending manufacturing jobs to China. Liars are being called on their bullshit and IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME! Now, if only someone would put Willard "Mitt" Romney in his place!

If you want to avoid my rants, it's okay, but please comeback later in the week. I will be back to a more normal blog of photographs with a few words to bring it all together. I still have a lot to share with you about what I have seen and done the last month. But for now, I am looking back, before I take any steps forward.

The "People's Park" Mural, by artists O'Brien Thiele and Osha Neumann, is difficult to post in one photo, so I have decided to post vignettes of the mural.

Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour tonight. Spring FORWARD. Fall BACK. :)

So tell me, are you ready for Tuesday, November 6th, 2012?

John Scalzi's Weekend Assignment #181: Two Truths One Lie

"The greatest enemy of any of our truths, many be the rest of our truths."

-William James

Weekend Assignment#181: Present three facts about yourself. Have two of them be true. Have one of them be false. Encourage people to guess which one is the false one. When do you reveal the false one? On Monday. In a new entry (I'll be linking to your original post). You'll get two visits for the price of one!

Extra Credit: Have you lied about something today (aside from the Weekend Assignment)? You don't have to say what the lie was. Just whether you've lied today. Little white lies count.

-John Scalzi (By The Way)

Jeepers, I have been blogging over four years John, there may not be anything new to learn about me. Hmmmmm. Scratching my head...Oh... I know...

Two Truths And A Lie

1. I am the youngest of three children, and my spouse is also the youngest of 3.

2. My favorite bird is the pelican.

3. My eyes are green with little flecks of purple.

Alrightly then readers, have you been paying attention? Do you know which ones are true and which one is a lie? Guesses anyone? As John instructed, comeback here to Ellipsis on Monday, to read the reveal. :)

Extra Credit: Nope, I cannot tell a lie, I did no lying yesterday. :) Nope, not me!

"Every truth passes through three stages before it is recognized. In the first, it is ridiculed, in the second it is opposed, in the third it is regarded as self-evident.
