If elected, Donald Trump wants to again close the office of Pandemic Preparedness and Response Policy. We know what happened the last time this occurred. Covid-19 devastated us, in very short order, and it seems he learned nothing, even after contracting it. At the time, October of 2020, when didn't have the vaccine yet, but we did at least have some general guidelines for keeping ourselves safer. Social distancing, having a single household member doing the shopping for the family, the use of masks, and working from home, and washing your hands more often.You know, common sense stuff! Everyone was at risk when he made that speech, and he knew it! So what will he do with the Avian Flu?

 

While its rare for that particular flu to spread to humans, it has the ability to do just that, and in fact it has. What will happen next? We don't know! Covid statistics show that we have gotten it under control but do we really? Does it have the potential to spin into another rampage version of itself... one we aren't prepared for because of negligence? Will the next pandemic come at us from out of the blue? How will we know? It's not like he tells the truth! And it's not like the world is seeing any great urgency, because why offend folks who are scared of wearing masks.

  What is Wrong with Society Today

 

I grew up in a house with physical and psychological abuse. Both parents did as much as possible to hurt the other. Throwing things, slamming doors, and scream fights so loud that often times neighbors called the police. Mom threatened suicide, and carried out mock attempts, and dad had affairs. But it wasn't all bad, he also provided for us. We had what we needed, and he rarely complained about working, at times overtime. Mom gave me warmest hugs ever, and taught me about animals. It was just all complicated. I am not sure when thins feel apart for my parents, but it existed throughout their marriage. It was sad.

 

Here, it is pretty apparent. P. Diddy is an abuser. He admits to his alcoholism. He responded to this video with a mea culpa of sorts that mostly blames his problems. I am not sure if he has quite arrived at a place of healing from his demons, and if he hasn't, he will remain a dangerous person to be around. Any woman that is in his life right now, should double think her choices. Especially in that he is also accused of other horrific crimes. He had every chance my family didn't both financially as well as access to mental health professionals. I am not sure why all this is upsetting me the way it does, I was never a fan, but I guess I just wonder why having a life of talent, of having the world in the palm of your hand, rarely leads to happiness.

I saw some happy little American Goldfinch playing in a puddle the other day, and to tell you the truth, it's all I wanted to do for the remainder of that particular day. They were lovely. The male never left the female's side. He never strayed more then a foot or so away from her. And she spent most of her time, bathing in the cool water, and fluffing herself up. She was gorgeous, and clearly she was about to go out on the town with her love... Mr. Goldfinch. Imagine that, love is all around.

Not The Aurora Borealis, But What A Gorgeous Moon!

 

Okay, so, the Aurora Borealis decided to take a vacation by visiting the whole world, but somehow it decided to avoid Stockton. It was also missing in Galt and Lodi. I looked for it, and didn't see it at all, well, maybe a little but it certainly wasn't the awesome vibrant event I hoped to see and I am just guessing and hoping that that is what I saw. So, I felt a little sad about it, but not for very long. The Aurora Borealis could come back for a visit. Sigh. I think it's probably more likely we will have an attention getting earthquake or possibly a sighting of a rare bird, before this opportunity comes back around. POUT! The thing about being my age that truly sucks is that feeling of do it now, because they days are going by fast. Ride the scary roller-coaster, take the helicopter tour, go out and search for rare celestial events! Take the whale tour, because...

Gross, but still a necessary part of the story. I am relieved her testimony is over, and I am sure she is too! The media's talking heads seemed to think she did much better today, then she did a couple days ago. It was obvious that he was nervous to be in the same room with the man, for the first time since the news of their sexual encounter broke, and under these circumstances to add to the fun. She was treated badly by the defense attorneys. There was a strong implication that Stormy brought everything on herself. That because she was a porn actress, she should have known Trump would try to make a move.It was sick. I think she did her best on both days. She showed up. She told the truth under oath, and she made a clear point when she told one of Trump's lawyers, basically, if I were lying, I would have told a better story. That was paraphrased by me, of course.

 Anyway, I don't consider Stormy a hero, nor a villain. I think she is a lady who got caught up in Trump's notoriously icky behavior. Trump cheated on his first two wives, so it's not a stretch to believe he would cheat on Melania as well. And if he cheated, and didn't want it to come out before the 2016 election, well, again it's not a stretch to believe he paid her, and Karen McDougal off! He has led a life of, throw money at it, and move on. The NDA has been his friend. So, now that the her testimony is over, it's time to move onto other witnesses, big and small. Soon Michael Cohen will be on the stand, and that might just be a bigger storm that Stormy Daniels was.

So far all they got for their support of Trump, was a jail cell after January 6th. But all this time later he is right back up in the polls, and he has a really good chance at being elected and, of course, the cruelty continues.

Meet my new wheels. Her name is Phoebe, named after the cute little bird, that happens to be one of my absolute favorite birds to watch! Don't worry, I'm okay, but my knees aren't! As I have explained on X and Threads, I put my knees through too much in my younger days. I was told I would regret high heels, but to tell you the truth, I don't. They made my legs and ankles look terrific. They gave me height. But by the time I reached my mid 30's I knew it was time to put the flats on and enjoy not having swollen feet. I continued to do a fair amount of walking, and some like biking, you know, around town, but the damage was done, and that damage continued right up until last week, when it was suggested that I needed to use the chair, if I was going to go to remote places to do my birding, or consider moving on to a new hobby. Well, that wasn't going to happen! So, my cute little red Mini Cooper is still my main set of wheels, but you can call my new wheelchair that sporty little convertible that my daring husband pushes me around in on the weekends when we go birding. I am a very lucky woman!

 

And I have a wonderful husband!

This is the way with Donald Trump, especially during his presidency, one day could be SCARY AS HELL, and the next day it would be laugh on the floor funny! It just depended on the flow. Mostly though, in all seriousness, I was pretty much continuously terrified during his time in office. So much so, that I am now on several anti-depressants that I didn't need prior to his taking office. I fear his regaining power. It terrifies me! I have never felt so helpless, because you can't make people care. You can't make people be smart about their decisions. I do some praying, but free will overrules me. So now what? I guess all I can do I will just take the laughs along the way. And hopefully, maybe some judge will actually shut him the fuck up!

It was a nearly perfect day in Bodega Bay. We spotted a few more birds, but the star of the day wasn't a bird, it was this adorable Sea lion, sunning himself in the warm afternoon Bodega Bay sun. I watched him for about 15 minutes or so. It was soul cleansing. I miss the Sea Lions of Pier 39 in San Francisco, so this was a very cool find! The dock sits right behind the Tides Restaurant, so could that have been the same dock where Melanie Daniels rented the boat she used to reach Mitch Brenner's house in the movie, The Birds? I'd like to think so. It's been a long time since that movie was filmed, and a lot of things have changed, but the beauty and fun of Bodega Bay, hasn't changed a bit!

If you're reading this post, you obviously made it through the pandemic, and that's amazing news, it makes me truly happy. Now, given what we all went through in the Trump years, and since he left office, please consider your vote carefully this year. Don't throw it away. Don't just think of yourself, think of those around you. A mother or grandfather who could lose their Social Security. A neighbor who could be round up, just because they look like they could be here without a Green Card. We can still work on the damage done with the overturning of Roe v Wade. We can make real strides in fixing it. We just need to keep Joe Biden in office. And as much as I understand the option of casting a protest vote, now isn't the time. Trust me, I'm in my 60s and I have never seen a more dangerous time, than the time we are living in right now.

And by the way, the pandemic isn't over. Do you want Captain Bleach to deal with another dangerous round of Covid?

In case you didn't notice, I took a few days off to... well... get ready for the trial of Donald Trump. Yesterday, we paid a visit to Bodega Bay and, of course, did some birding and it sure did pay off! I found this gorgeous California Quail, a bird I look forward to every spring, and I also found about 5 additional birds! One of them, a completely new bird that I had never seen before. The Red-necked grebe. I will post his pic later this week. Right now the day belongs to this quail. He was a treat. He sat on that branch, with the beautiful blue water behind him, and sang his little song, and in those moments everything was just about perfect! By the way, I've used that quote before, because my gosh, it nails it!

Jimmy Kimmel, and the Academy Awards, is what the Don Snorelone has to worry about at 7:18 AM, on the only day he has off from his current criminal trial? That tweet reminds me of the final scene of the Caine Mutiny, where it becomes painfully apparent to everyone that Captain Queeg that is indeed fucking NUTS. Sorry... mentally ill. Donald Trump needs help. As someone who has had to face depression my whole life, I know of what I speak. He needs help. Take this tweet alone, he lashes out over the Academy Awards, why now? It happened over a month ago. The ratings were not bad, in fact they gained 4% over the previous year's telecast.

 

 By the way, it wasn't Jimmy Kimmel who handed out the Oscar for Best Film, it was Al Pacino. And the"Winner is" was changed years ago to, "And The Oscar Goes To." Maybe he should be sleeping, or strategizing with his legal teem, or perhaps planning whatever he has mind for his campaign. Anything other than barking at the moon. I expect as we move alone, and things seem to be moving fast, he will demonstrate more and more that he needs help! He will have his Captain Queeg moment, and like in the Caine Mutiny, he will have folks continue to support him, while not realizing the hurt they are doing to him. The hurt they are doing to all of us.

If you have never seen the Caine Mutiny, I encourage you to go watch it! It's my favorite Humphrey Bogart movie, and Fred MacMurray was amazing as well. 

I repeat, Donald Trump needs help.
