Autumn Leaf Of The Day #23/When We Fight, We Win!

“If you're going to die, then die. If you are going to live, then fight.”

~Emilie Autumn

We must enjoy autumn for all it's beauty, but this year, we must also find out strength to fight! Donald Trump is a breath away from winning the election, and frankly I am terrified. We all must do everything we can to defeat him on election day. Volunteer. Organize. Talk to your friends and neighbors. Donate up and down the ballot. We can do this, but we have to find our fight. It's not a fucking reality show... it's our life right now... and in the future.

HELP!

Letting The Leaves Fall Where They Will

"I love autumn despite the drench weather. I think it symbolizes the end of misery and the beginning of glee. It gives hopes that sooner or later, flowers will bloom again, green buds will sprout from trees, and that which is dead will come back alive."

~Aishah Madadiy

Bits Of Heaven

Well, there still isn't an apparent winner of the American presidency, as of 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 5th, 2020. If truth be told, however, I think before the sun comes up tomorrow morning, the race will be called for Joe Biden, by way of Pennsylvania. Shrug. There are a couple other paths as well, but who really knows? There are 5 battleground states remaining, but the Associated Press and Fox News have both called Arizona for Biden. Trump has filed... and lost... several lawsuits across the country. He gave a press conference that was belligerent, filled with lies, and a dog whistle to his cultist to interfere any way they could. Stop the vote in one place, demand the votes be counted in others. A situation that, like so many others, I plan to leave to history to document. I am too tired. We are almost at the end of the most terrifying time of my life, and I can see the finish line, but I am so tired that I can barely function. I am grateful that it's autumn though, because the leaves are falling in their own time, and no matter how I, or anyone else, feels about it, they fall where they will, just the way God, Mother Nature, and American politics intended.

The Only Thing You Have To Fear Is Donald Trump Himself

"I enjoy the spring more than autumn now.
One does, I think, as one gets older."

~Virginia Woolf
Jacob's Room

My whole life I've heard and read, what a melancholy season autumn is! But it has never felt that way to me. I've always thought that, of all the seasons, autumn is the only one with a sense of humor! It's death reminding you, with the ultimate "joke's on you" prank, of turning all the leaves on the trees into beautiful colors, of red, gold, orange, mustard, and sometimes purple, that shine in such vibrancy, that death is the furthest thing on your mind!

But, rather than a joke, or a set time to be melancholy time, maybe autumn is more like a yellow signal light. The message is a simple one, it's time to slow down. It's time to reconsider how fast you and your life are going. I don't see the melancholy in that. Even as the seasons of autumn and winter converge, I don't feel the sadness others do, not as long as I can find autumn leaves fighting off the skeleton trees that winter causes. But actually, if truth be told, I don't feel depressed in winter either.

Winter has ice ghosts. Shadows that sometimes scare me more than any shadow I've seen in the last days before Halloween.Winter is black and white, and therefore it makes me search for the color, and it's that feeling of a treasure hunt that sends me out into the cold of life, determined to live. I refuse to give up. I push back. I have pushed back so hard on some years, that I was able to take pictures of autumn leaves, still on trees in March, because I was determined to search for them! The leaves were literally sharing a tree with the cheeriest of spring blossoms, and I would have never seen them, if I hadn't pushed through!

We aren't going to get out of life alive.
And there is no easy way out, it just is what it is.
So I'm going to grab my camera and enjoy the scavenger hunt.
And pretend Donald Trump doesn't get us all prematurely killed.

Well, this post just took a seasonal turn... didn't it?

I went and did it again!
I dwelled on my biggest fear!
The scariest thing since
 Frankenstein
 Michael Myers and Dracula combined!

Boo! And Boo!

On An Average Tuesday

"I think it's about time we voted for senators with breasts. After all, we've been voting for boobs long enough!"

-Clarie Sargent

Today is the California Primary, as well as in 24 other states. I have already cast my ballot, but Alan will cast his vote a little later today. It promises to be a nail bitting day on the Democratic side of things, while Romney is the front runner here in California, for the Republicans.

I am hoping when all is said and done, Hillary Clinton will take California for the Democratic nomination. I believe in her, and what she's trying to accomplish. I watched her, Town Hall Meeting, last night on the Hallmark channel, and I continue to be impressed by not only the answers she gives to the questions facing our country, but also the viability of her solutions to our many difficulties. I hear the word "CHANGE" a lot, we all want CHANGE, so I have to ask, does CHANGE really get anymore profound then letting a woman lead the country for the first time?

There is just 349 Days to go, until the collective sigh of relief is heard round the world! NOW GO VOTE! :)
