3 Down 16 To Go

“Hypocrite: The man who murdered his parents,
and then pleaded for mercy on the grounds that he was an orphan.”

~Abraham Lincoln

And Chesebro makes 3. Whose next? Jenna Ellis? Rudy Giuliani? Mark Meadows? Personally, I think it will be Jenna Ellis. She has already been complaining about Trump not assisting her with legal bills. But Rudy Giuliani is also facing financial woes from a divorce, and various lawsuits and criminal charges, pleading out might an attractive prospect. And again, has complained Trump has done nothing to help out with the financial pain. I am sensing a pattern here. Trump has always thrown his inner circles under the bus. If I can see it, why can't these people see it too? How he ever got anyone to support him is baffling to me. I guess it's just how cults work.

The Test Of A Man's Character

"Nearly all men can stand adversity,
but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."

~Abraham Lincoln

Right?
Donald Trump has now lost Arizona. The only states left to call are North Carolina and Georgia. This is only the second time that the state of Arizona has gone for a Democrat, the first being Bill Clinton, in 1996. Before that, you'd have to go all the way back to 1948! And to think, all it took was an out of control pandemic to unseat the worst president, Donald Trump, this nation has ever seen! He's still refusing to concede, although the Republican party does seem to be losing it's patience with his immature insistence that he won the election by "lots." Yes, he said he won by "lots."

 Sigh.

"There is but one just use of power,
and it is to serve the people."

~George H. W. Bush

It's here. A day I have been pretending doesn't exist, and therefore wouldn't happen. But it does exist, and it will happen. At noon ET Donald John Trump will become the 45th President Of The United States. What was a nightmare over the summer, has become a frightening reality. I am frankly scared to death, but face it we will, and I and many others won't give up on our principals and core belief values. Never. Ever. So, while it's an uphill climb, we never bend to hatred. We will never bend to fear. And we will never, ever, bow down before Trump! We will remember the words of president's past to keep us inspired to move forward. Today is more than the inauguration of a madman, it's a countdown to the end of his presidency. 2020 isn't that far away! Unless it comes sooner, by his own misdeeds! Either way, we still have plenty to look forward
to!

~Ronald Reagan

"We all do better when we work together. Our differences do matter,
but our common humanity matters more."

~Bill Clinton

"You could see blood coming out of her eyes,
blood coming out of her... whatever."

During and interview in August of 2015

My thoughts are not with Trump today, my thoughts today are for the speedy recovery of President George H. W. Bush and his wife, Barbara Bush. Two folks I strongly disagreed with politically, but two people I never doubted loved this nation!

 True American patriots!

A Photo A Day For 6 Months: Day 50~If lincoln Were Here

"Life is not merely to be alive, but to be well."

 ~Marcus Valerius Martial

If Abraham Lincoln were alive today, I think he would be happy with today's ruling by the Supreme Court, but would he still be a Republican? Would he be a Republican by today's standards? Would he support torture? Would he be for or against Healthcare Reform? In that some want to think he actually did hunt vampires for God's sake, would he stop there? Just so we are on the same page, HE DIDN'T HUNT VAMPIRES. But if you look around online, you will find out that some absolutely insist that he did. God, it sounds like something Sarah Palin would say while doing a photo op at the Lincoln Memorial. LOL. But if he did, why would he stop there? Wouldn't he want folks to be healthy? I know what I think... but what about you?

I have to admit that I was expecting the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down the Patient Protection and Affordable Car Act, aka ObamaCare. After the ridiculous ruling of Citzen's United, who wouldn't feel a little cynical that Supreme Court would once again bow to the will of the GOP? But as it turns out, they did the right thing. Was I completely happy with PPACA? No. I wanted to see the Public Option included and wasn't happy to see it negotiated away, but the fact that America might just be a healthier place in a 100 years makes me feel like finally we are doing something positive for future generations. There is a lot more that can be done, but for now, this is a start.

Keith Olbermann originally made this Special Comment back in 2009, while he was still at MSNBC. It was a passionate, focused observation about the necessity of Health Care Reform. Valid then. Valid Now. If you haven't seen it, do so.
