Fear Should NOT Be An Option

"I guess"
~Donald Trump
When asked if Americans should be worried about terrorist threats.

Will you be going to the next, NO KINGS, rally? I hope to be, but as of right now, I am still thinking it over. On the one hand, it's the most important march of my lifetime! We are now living under fascism, but there is still time to pushback against it, and take control of our future, by winning in the mid-term elections. But first we have to make our voices heard. But on the other hand, I am deeply concerned about sleeper cells within the United States, considering Trump has been taking such a cavalier attitude toward possible terrorist threats within the America. Look at all the damage that has been done, both geographically and diplomatically in the middle east, not to mention the continued disrespect of our European allies. You can't be too vigilant, and that can lead to feeling paralyzed. Well, if you're like me anyway. I hate that Donald Trump has made fear an option. And I hate that I feel so vulnerable in my wheelchair.

A Few Of My Favorites...

"You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, all the books you have read, the music you have heard, and people you have loved."

~Ansel Adams

Photography means a lot to me, but I sometimes sacrifice the quality of my photos, so I can get a picture in the moment. Bird photos sometimes have to be taken, before you think about whether the opportunity will be for the art, or whether it will be to build your yearly bird list. I try really hard to bring the two together, but oh boy, there are challenges. Weather. Birds that seem to fly at the speed of sound. I am getting older, so I am having a bit of a tremor in my hands, which might be from arthritis. There are a lot of factors. But here I want to share the ones I got right, or at least, okay. There is a lot of emotion here. They reflect happiness, sadness, serenity, wonder. It has been quite a year, filled with, you know LIFE. Each year I try to get a photo good enough to enter into the Audubon Photography Contest. Hopefully, 2026 will be my year!

Autumn Answers: Yes And No

Stockton, California
October 19th, 2025

“This 'death' of flowers was only for a season.
A person just needed a little patience to see things come to life once more.”

~Heather Flynn,

It's not autumn or winter that drains flowers of their life, it's politics. I was kinda looking forward to not having to think about politics this November, but then Prop 50 came around, and I was quite happy to think about it, in fact autumn flowers seem happier and brighter somehow after I delivered my ballot to the registrar of voters. You already know where I stand on these issues, but for the sake of history, here are two signs I spotted this week that made me smile.

Maybe there is a little hope after all.

Autumn... The Election Season

“The Lord is my shepherd.
I shall not want for nothing.
He makes me lie down in the green pastures.
He greases up my head with oil.
He gives me kung-fu in the face of my enemies. Amen”

~Stephen King,

In case any rabid MAGA nutjob is reading that quote, and the words in this blog post, firstly, FUCK YOU, second, I believe the quote fits the not just the way I am feeling right now, but also the overall theme of this post.

 SO DEAL WITH IT!

We are planning on attending the, "No Kings" rally in Sacramento. We have decided we must take a bigger stand than bitching on social media! So, we are leaving the house early, and with blankets and sodas, and we are off to the event. Hopefully parking won't be a drama, and we can just focus on exercising our constitutional right to make our voices heard. It's called the First Amendment. It's precious, being it's being shattered, raped and degraded.

Soon, Trump will be sending ICE into San Francisco to threaten and intimate. All as an excuse to disparage one of the most beautiful cities America has to offer. It's a big city, so yes there has been crime, but the crime rate has been steadily falling for years now. It's nonsense to invade the city, based of the whims of Elon Musk, and other tech assholes. I live in the San Joaquin Valley, but San Francisco will always be my home. Trump is an unimaginable liar and I hope whatever photos I am able to get will reflect that.

Also, have you heard about this nonsense of putting him on a coin, with his likeness  after he was grazed by a bullet? And about that, why have we been given so little details about that day? It's clear something is being hid from us, shrug, I don't care enough about him to care, and yet at the same time, it's curious, isn't it? I don't deal in conspiracy theories, but with all the money he has made off that incident, it makes one wonder if it was actually all staged, but then it all went terribly wrong. Someone died. Remember that. Someone died.

Finally, I am going to be voting YES on Proposition 50! It's time we fought back against Trump's obvious rigging of the upcoming, 2026 midterms, which, of course, could and probably would, lead to the Republicans winning the White House again in 2028, all based on gerrymandering. I can't do much about all the political chicanery, but I can vote, I can attend protests, I can stay informed, and you can bet your ballot, I will do just that!
