As I have mentioned before, my new phone is a lot of fun, and it is actually inspiring me to do more with my photographs, even if it's with some of my older photos! Yesterday, I was pretty much in bed all day with a migraine, and photography was not an option, but by the evening I was feeling better, so I did a few new photos of Tyler, and played around with converting some July 4th photos into AI beauties. AI photoshopping will never replace taking and editing my own digital photos, but it's kinda nice to see my photos in a new light. And that cute image above is definitely an accurate depiction of my beautiful pink eared cat, my gorgeous sweet Tyler! I am not sure how I feel about AI in general, I mean I know it will do some damage, and these data centers certainly border on evil. I just know that those centers were born of a musing of Satan, but playing with AI for fun, or to find information quickly is a good thing, I think. I love my cats, and imagining them in a new light is one way I try to help myself out of this depression I have been feeling. And it was fun to ask Alexa the other day, if Simon can have Brussels sprouts. He loves them so much. So, in that respect, thank you AI, now behave yourself!

The Final Conflict: The Last Chapter In The Omen Trilogy

It's Saturday, so I plan to spend the day watching movies all day! The Omen Trilogy is one of my favorite sets, so I saved it for the week just before Halloween! I expect I will be doing multi-movie nights leading up until Halloween on Friday, and probably into the, Day Of The Dead, as well. I have to confess, my draw to these movies the last few years isn't just the terrific acting, or how wonderfully beautifully filmed they are, but the fact that the evil in the White House making the drama seem all the more real. And all the more Scary. I believe in evil. I believe that the anti-Christ will eventually make himself known one day. I am a Christian, and my faith says it's true. Whether it will be in my lifetime, who knows, but watching the evil doings of our current government certainly demonstrates how easy it will probably come to pass. Weak willed humans will lead the way. It's biblical. Okay, I'm done.

 

These are really great movies.

Alan worked his regular 8 hour shift yesterday, plus 4 hours. He came home, and we had pizza, and watched a documentary on Sarah Palin, that I highly recommend by the way, called, 

Sarah Palin: You Betcha! It's available from Netflix, so if you haven't seen it, and you have Netflix... scoot... skedaddle... go see it! But, be prepared, it's some scary stuff, and is mostly told to film maker, Nick Broomfield, by the folks who actually lived through the experience that is Sarah Palin. It's a cautionary tale of ruthless ambition, fundamental Christianity and destructive politics, each at it's most dangerous. It's probably nothing you haven't heard before about Mrs. Palin, but when the actual words are coming from the mouths of people who have felt the wrath of Palin first hand, it's positively bone-chilling. Particularly when you consider the ridiculous brawl that took place in Alaska last September, and how quiet everything got in the days and weeks afterward.

It was widely published at the time, a man who attended the party, Eric Thompson, which was held at the home of Korey Klingenmeyer, his boss, at McKenna Paving, lost his job almost immediately after he spoke out to ABC News, regarding the Palin's part in the fight. Mckenna Paving, is owned by Matt and Marc McKenna, the men whose birthday's were being celebrated at the party. He was rehired at some point later, perhaps around the time the tapes made by police, the night of the party, were released to the media. Apparently, for sometime following the altercation, Korey Klingenmeyer considered filing assault charges against Bristol Palin, who is said to have punched him in the face several times. But in the end, as always, suddenly everything went silent, and if you watch the movie, you will see why. Sometimes I don't know whether to think of Sarah Palin as one big joke, or evil incarnate. All I know is, as good as the documentary was, I don't recommend watching it on a night when you lose an hour of sleep... you will lose enough sleep as it is!

Faces In The Crowd

I see faces. Unusual faces. Always have. But I have seen more unusual faces in 2012 than any other year that I can remember. Faces on buckets. Faces on trees. Faces in a big jug of sun tea with lemon. And then I saw this one last October. Do you see it? It's right there in the lower left corner of the garage door. And while some of those faces were created by someone on purpose, cases like the sun tea, and this one here, seem to be a happy coincidence. I love that. I think next year I am going to keep them in a file, and perhaps do a special series. Of course, you know how it goes, when you start looking for sudden spontaneous faces, that's when they seem to disappear.

Life is funny that way.

 If I could put an emotion to the face in the lower left corner of this garage door, I would say it is... perplexed.

City One: Half Moon Bay

Pumpkins from Apple Hill. This years crop looked especially colorful, and a bit larger than last year. I keep expecting to see an Apple Hill pumpkin win biggest pumpkin in the annual Half Moon Bay Pumpkin weigh-off, but alas the official pumpkin this year was grown in Oregon, and weighed in at 1,775 lbs. The Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival is next weekend, and we haven't decided if we are going yet, but we will be in Half Moon Bay sometime before the end of October, and I am really looking forward to seeing the winning pumpkin in person. I will have to try adding pumpkins to my garden next year, we'll see.

City Two: Zanesville Ohio

About 18 years ago, Alan and I flew to the east coast to spend October with family. His parents had moved back there about a year earlier, and we missed them terribly, so what better way to spend our favorite month than by spending our favorite month with them. The autumn in Ohio was amazing! Crimson, deep gold and hints of purple filled the landscape. I took a lot of pictures with my old film camera, and each one told a tale all on it's own.

One late Sunday afternoon, Alan and I went out for a ride. It was just the two of us, looking for adventure with our cameras, when sure enough... we found it! We came to the end of a road near Zanesville, Ohio, that gave us a choice. Would we take the safe road, or would we continue our journey down a road that at least hints at it's own possible evil ends?

Someday I will share what we decided, but for now, tell me, how many roads have you been on in life that gave you such an honest choice?

Grrr... Sarah Palin...!

After Sarah Palin's Twitter crap yesterday, I felt like this video needed to be a part of my entry. Look, Sarah was at her vilest yesterday. Apparently she has never heard of treating others the way she wants to be treated! You know? I really have a hard time believing that our founding fathers had name calling, and hurtful barbs in mind. I don't know, I suppose I could be wrong, but if I am wrong, and they would approve of us slinging such disparities at each other, then AMERICA is not the best country on earth... and it never will be!

The question I have to ask is... Is THIS how you have raised your children Sarah? Do you count name-calling among your family values? If so, fine, do it in your own home, but don't step on clear thinking parents all across America who are working hard to raise fair-minded, responsible children! Sarah, consider your words carefully, would you want someone else messing with your children's morals? Freedom of speech used to hurt others... SAD... OH SO SAD!
