Characters In An Ethereal Sky... A Seahorse

"Not only are they magnificent creatures, but seahorses represent a conversion of the world's most pressing conservation issues. The recovery of seahorses will indicate that our seas are becoming healthier."

~Amanda Vincent

What Do You See?

We all do it... right? Look up in the sky and see a shape and think of something specific. We all start that as children, and some of us get over it, but some of us, like me, continue to see the wispy, ethereal, seahorse in the sky. Well, sometimes I see other things. One day I saw the letter lowercase (i) as if it had been typed on an old fashioned typewriter. On another occasion I saw the number (3). Or maybe it was a (M) or perhaps it could have been a (W) depending on your perspective... to me it as a (3) definitely a (3). And last autumn I saw a whole sky of jellyfish, well, cloud shaped jellyfish anyway.

What does it mean?

I don't know exactly.

Any thoughts?

For now I will just keep collecting the ethereal sky characters and maybe one day when I put them all together they will tell the full story. Or give me the full message. Or somehow come together in such a way as to make it all... it all being life... make sense.

Do you know what I mean?

A Jellyfish Sky...

The #3...

The Lowercase (i) As Typed On An Old Fashioned Typewriter...

"When seahorses find a mate, they wrap their tails around each other so the tide doesn't drift them apart. They have that one mate for the rest of their lives. When the mate dies, they do too."

Do I Spy With My Little Eye, Sky Ghosts Or Jellyfish?

"We pledge to fight blue-sky thinking wherever we find it. Life would be dull if we had to look up at at cloudless monotony day after day."

~Gavin Pretir-Pinney, The Cloudspotter's Guide

The sky was filled with beautiful clouds the other day, but I couldn't make up my mind if they looked more like ghosts or jellyfish!

What do you think?

Ghosts?

"Maybe all the people who say ghosts don't exist are just afraid to admit that they do."

~Michael Ende, The Neverending Story

Or Jellyfish?

Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful."

~Karl Pilkington

Round Robin Challenge: Sparkle

"I dare you, who think life is humdrum, to become involved. I dare you who are weak to become strong; you who are dull to be sparkling; you who are slaves to be kings."

-William Danforth

Vicki, who authors the blog, "Maraca" submitted this challenge topic months ago, almost 6 months ago to be exact, and as soon as I saw it, I thought of this time of year, when everything seems to be sparkling. The frost on my plants in the early morning, the ornaments on the Christmas tree, even the fun little bubbles in a glass of apple cider, all bring a special sparkling light to things, but as the summer and the autumn moved on, I also saw some sparkle in some places I might have overlooked...

The sparkle of a jellyfish...

The sparkle on the wings of a honey bee...

The sparkle of a lovely Christmas tree ornament...

The sparkle of the car lights moving across the Golden Gate Bridge...

The sparkle of a beautiful fireworks display...

This was a fun, and beautiful challenge. Thank you Vicki, for the great idea! Be sure to pay a visit to Vicki's blog, and also to all the Robins who participated in this challenge, to see their interpretations of the challenge. Simply follow the links below.
