Happy New Year! MAKE MISTAKES!

"I  hope in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're DOING SOMETHING.

So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make NEW MISTAKES. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work, or family or life.

Whatever it is you're scared of doing, DO IT.

Make mistakes, next year and forever."

~Neil Gaiman

Is It Gone? Yep... HAPPY 2017!

"Hope smiles from the threshold of the new year to come whispering... 'it will be happier'..."

~Alfred Tenneyson

If you have been reading along, you already know I haven't posted in over a week! You see, Alan and I have been sick with one of the worst colds either one of us has had in a long time. We both had colds last Christmas as well, but nothing compared to this year's fresh hell, but then FRESH HELL is pretty much how their entirety of 2016 could be summed up!

I am not going to dwell, it's gone, and 2017 has just begun, so I am going to give it a fair chance. It has no fault in the shitshow that was 2016. It's not responsible for all the deaths and destruction. It's just a new year, and while I see a lot of room for catastrophe, lets hold onto the one bit of hope that continues to see me through the pain of 2016...

Donald Trump lost the popular vote by 2.9 million votes.

That means there are still more people
 who think straight than don't.

There is a great deal of hope in that.

WELCOME 2017!

Happy New Year 2014!

"Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering, it will be happier... ."

~Alfred Lord Tennyson

When I look back at 2013, and all the weird twists and turns it took for Alan and I, there is only one way to think about it. For us, 2013 will always be the Year Of Plan B! Most of the time Plan B would turn out to definitely be the way to go, but sometimes it took a little bit of time to realize just how fortunate Plan B could be! Our 2013 had adventure, and love, and curiosity, and a lot of good fortune, such as finding our energetic and silly new kitten Joey! 2014 is here, and no one knows what it will bring, but as the years tick off of my life, I am more and more thankful for the road I am on with Alan, and for our life with our furbabies... Hendrix, Dylan and now baby Joey... and all that life has waiting for me as the clock strikes midnight!

2014 IS Here! ON TO THE NEW ADVENTURE!

My dates for New Year's Eve!

As we begin a sparkly, snarkly new year, I wish you all the best! Hold on tight, 2013 will be a bumpy one methinks.

Here is my favorite thing about 2011. You can't make stuff like this up! Hope it tickles your funny bone as much as it did mine!

So Long 2009... And The Horse You Rode In ON!

From For Ellipsis

"An optimist stays up till midnight to see the New Year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old one leaves."

-Bill Vaughn

Well, didn't 2009 just suck rocks? The death of some of my favorite celebrities, a near economic depression, both nationally and in our own home... LOL... I haven't hated a year so much since 1995, the year that brought me Epstein-Barr and the death of my father. I still miss my dad. I would have loved to know what he thought about Sarah Palin. Knowing my dad, he would have been beside himself for the entirety of the Bush Administration. LOL. And when gas approached nearly $5.00 a gallon, well, let's just say I could hear him turning over in his grave! LOL. Oh my, but Sarah Palin is the gift that keeps on giving, and I know he an I would have shared a laugh or two at her expense. Yea, I come by my sense of humor honestly, I got it from my Dad. Thanks for that Dad!

:)

It's up to you if you believe we start the new decade this year or next, as for me, I think I am going to start things now. I am officially letting go of the "AUGHTS." Here's to the "EENS."

It's finally here... 2009! I am ready for the New Year, and all the wonderful opportunities waiting for me. People, places, things, it's all fresh and new, and I am ready to take it on! How about you? Is there anything in particular you are looking forward to in the coming year? Tell me what you think. Will 2009 be better then 2008? Do you have big plans in terms of how you will face the coming year? If you feel like sharing, please do so. I would love to know what you think. Look into your crystal ball, and tell what the New Year will be like. Good, Bad, or Otherwise.

From Our House To Yours... HAPPY NEW YEAR!
