Existence

“A seagull flying beautifully is heaven; a seagull hunting an innocent fish is hell!
Existence is heaven and hell, joy and horror!”

~Mehmet Murat ildan

Right? A little later today, I will be attending a meeting of the Democratic club of Lodi. Sigh. I want to go, but I am unsure of how diplomatic I can be anymore, and to make it all worse, I have a big opinionated mouth. Can I hold my tongue and how some folks want to dump Joe Biden over the Israel/Hamas war? The economy? His age? Will we have another protest vote over these things? Maybe! And wouldn't that suck? Yes, yes it would. I guess my real concern is the fact that if you put any number of people in the same room, there will be someone who thinks radically different than you do. Which is okay, but I am passionate about my politics, and all I really want is to help defeat Donald Trump. I am not in it to shoot myself in the foot by picking apart our best hope for survival. Joe Biden isn't too old for me. Joe Biden is smart enough for me. Joe Biden is handling the middle east well enough... for now... but I may revisit that subject at a later date. Joe Biden is our best hope for saving democracy, and he has Kamala Harris at his side. If he should pass away in office, I am completely at ease with her becoming president. That's how our government works, and I was proud to vote for a Biden/Harris ticket in 2020 and will happily do so again. So, I have high hopes for my first meeting, I really do, but I am also prepared to run from the crazy!

A Bit Of Hope...

“Every single one of them should be released.”

~Secretary Of State

Two American hostages have been released by Hamas. Finally, we have some hope, perhaps guardedly, that he will see more released in the coming hours and days.

Sticks And Stones

“I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”

~Albert Einstein

Hundreds Killed. President Biden will arrive in Israel in a couple hours, to meet with Benjamin Netanyahu and to, I assume, try to lessen tensions. But with this event having taken place, I am not sure it will happen. Nothing is inevitable, but it seems like we are closer to catastrophe, than understanding and resolve.
I pray for the president's safety.
I pray that he can help make this stop.

 My faith is in him.

Meanwhile...

“So I try to be mindful, at all times, of what a difference a small human gesture can make to people in need. What does it really cost to take a moment to look someone in the eye, to give him a hug, to let her know, I get it. You’re not alone?”

~Joe Biden,

I am praying for President Biden, and Secretary of State Anthony Blinkan, and I am grateful for their bravery.President Biden will be the first American president to visit Israel during wartime.

This is how a REAL president behaves.
This is what it looks like to be a statesman!

Breaking News, Israel

“Here is a list of terrible things,
The jaws of sharks, a vultures wings
The rabid bite of the dogs of war,
The voice of one who went before,
But most of all the mirror's gaze,
Which counts us out our numbered days.”

~Clive Barker

Pray for Israel. Pray for Palestine. I can't take a side here, I watched so much shame in the last decade. Shame plenty to go around. Hamas is a terrorist organization, but Israel has done horrible things to the Palestinian people. When I look at the situation I just feel small and quiet, and maybe that's for the best. Ultimately, my heart and strength is with the innocent.
