Now there's a disease called, Cyclospora, which is making it's way around. It's a parasite found in fresh vegetables. The main symptom is "exploding diarrhea." And what did Trump do? Well, just like in 2016, earlier this year Trump cut surveillance for this specific parasite! It looks like we may have the makings of another Corvid-19 situation, but I sure hope not. I am going to do a deep dive on this, and see what I can find. God, we are the richest country in the world, and we can't even keep our own people safe, and able to eat fresh fruits and vegetables. This just didn't happen when I was a kid, at least not that I can remember. The first major outbreak of something like this was, Legionnaires Disease, in the mid-1970's. There were mistakes made then as well, but at least the lessons learned helped to keep us safe going forward. So, what will we have learned from this? That remains to be seen, but without the proper people to monitor it, things feel quite dark. Sometimes I wish I could go back to my childhood, spend a day happy, believing I had my whole like ahead of me, and everything would live up to the lies they all told us. You can't go home again, but you can spend a little time living in the daydream that made you happy. My happy place, when I was very little, was watching, The Monkees, with my sister. Star Trek, too, as well as the, Wild, Wild, and That Girl! Gosh, there was so much to look forward to.

I Want A Monkee And A Monkey

"Without music life would be a mistake."

-Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche

I have researched all kinds of music quotes to go with my entries about my great love of music, but somehow I keep coming back to this one. It sums up how I feel about music completely. It is also how I still feel about Micky Dolenz. If you have been reading me for long, you know I have been hopelessly in love with Micky Dolenz for about... oh... 43 years or so. LOL. Some of you probably remember my great excitement a few years ago, when I got to go to one of his concerts on the beach in Santa Cruz in 2005. It made my year, and fulfilled my lifelong fantasy of finally getting to see him preform in person. He came into town, broke my curse with Santa Cruz, and hasn't been back since. And I just checked, and he is not on the list of scheduled performers for the summer concert series. So, is there a new curse? Will he ever comeback? Or is it actually that the curse wasn't broken, and that is why he hasn't been back since? LOL. Micky... I miss you!

Give me your opinion. Will Micky ever comeback to Santa Cruz? Do you have a favorite Monkee? And what type of animal monkey is your favorite. Personally, I love chimpanzees. I would own one if I could. How about you? Would you prefer a monkee or a monkey?

The Phantom Menace

"Some people are so fond of bad luck, they run half way to meet it."

-Douglas Williams

Ok, here is some additional proof that there is just something funky about December 10th! Not only did I catch the head cold from HELL, but last night, before I went to bed, I found out that I have three pieces of phantom email in my AOL mailbox. Now I know what you are thinking. AOL messes up all the time, it is probably just one more glitch. Right? Well, perhaps, but I still think it is weird that it happened on December 10th, rather than any other day this week. :)

I believe there is something about this date, and it's relation to my life, but I have never been able to figure out what or why? I successfully broke the curse of Santa Cruz a couple years ago, by attending a Micky Dolenz concert on the beach. Micky Dolenz has always brought me luck. :) But I am not sure what will ever break the Curse of December 10th. All I know is, Alan takes the day off, we shut the doors and windows, hold Elvis close to us, and hang on for dear life! LOL. Now I have one more curse to get through this year, but that one's not due until Christmas Eve. Stay tuned. :)

So tell me, do you believe in curses? How about miracles? Do you have certain days in your year that you consider to be either blessed or cursed? How many years in a row has something happened on that specific day?

Your Monday Photo Shoot: Wave Hello!

"The story of life is quicker than the blink of an eye, the story of love is hello, goodbye."

-Jimi Hendrix

Your Monday Photo Shoot: Wave hello! It could be you, or some of your family, or a group of friends, or complete strangers. I just want to see those hands waving."

-John Scalzi (By The Way)

I thought about posting all the photos I have of the various celebrities I have had a chance to meet in person over the years, but I also thought it might be nice to just post one or two of them, waving hello. Sometimes simpler is better. :) As you probably know, one of the things I look forward to every year, is the free concerts on the beach in Santa Cruz. In 2005 I went to see Micky Dolenz, a crush of mine since I was 4 years old! :) The series begins again this June, and I am already planning to be there with my camera in hand. I have chosen to see Herman's Hermits, featuring Peter Noone. They will be there Friday, June 29th, which just happens to be my birthday. :) A day at the beach, with a free concert afterwards, and then a late dinner in town. I think that will be a good way to turn 45!

Here is Greg Kihn waving hello, from his concert on June 23rd, 2006!
