Feng Shui

“The sky
lights up
with fireworks
when you
follow your
dreams.”

~Avijeet Das

Hubby and I did a little Feng Shui last week, by completely moving our bedroom around. The bed is no longer under the window, it's on the opposite wall. Other than that, it's somewhat a work in progress. But just by doing that one action, we have gained an lot of positivity. For one... there's more light first thing in the morning! I have come to enjoy having a lot of light in the place I used to be a cave dweller, but the old house taught me a lot about light. And all the hard work came with another bonus, you see, the good folks of Stockton love to launch great big illegal fireworks on Independence Day, and that gave us a free fireworks show from the comfort of our bedroom window!

Let me tell you, it was Spectacular! I know, the illegal ones are dangerous, and I really shouldn't praise them, but it was better for us then risking the possibility of drunk drivers, driving through crowded streets, and not to mention the occasional need to drive long distances to see them. Another plus to the new arrangement in the bedroom, it now allows Joey a warm place on the hamper so he can see outside in the window! Sometimes everything just comes together! More on the room later. It feels so good to be so much closer to having our life in the house over, and the beginning of our lives in the condo beginning!

Cats And Christmas Part One: Feline Feng Shui

"Being the spirit of the house is somehow built into the soul of the cat the way joy itself is sewn into the word "Christmas."

~Unknown

If a cat isn't feeling Christmas, there is NO amount of petting, catnip, tuna from a can, cat toys, or pleading that will get a cat to pose for a holiday photo! That's why I keep at least one camera in each room in the house that holds at least some kind of holiday decoration. Last night, Alan and I finally got the Christmas tree decorated, and for some reason, Dylan was more than willing to pose next to it for me. I am pretty sure I will be made to pay for his cooperation, lol, perhaps with some extra cuddle time, or a little extra understanding when he decides to put his personal touch on the tree in a made fit of feline Feng shui. We'll see. Maybe not, maybe it's his Christmas present to me, you never know about these things!

Dylan is a lovely child, and I reminded of that every morning when Alan leaves for work, and Dylan snuggles up to me, on Alan's pillow, and sleeps right beside me until I am ready to get up. He doesn't leave my side. Although there have been those mornings when Dylan wanted me to get up and change his box, or give him some water or snacks. Dylan is a cat, therefore his does not suffer in silence. LOL. And that's a good thing. I love him. He is my child, and he really does put the joy in every day, not just Christmas! Even when he is singing the Dilly song at 4 in the morning!

52 Already?

Me at 50.

It's that time again... June 29th... my birthday! Personally, I like birthdays, a lot, but it sure is strange how fast my life seems to have gone since turning 21! It is really just a blink, but when I look back over the years, I was a pretty lucky person in that blink, because I know I was loved! Alan, I love you back! And my online friends, and IN REAL LIFE friends, I love all of you as well! So it's all good! And one really great thing about being this age, I finally feel smart, and perhaps even a little wise about a few things! I wouldn't change my age for anything!

So, what does someone who is happy, and content with her life want for her birthday? Well, see, it's the little things that can make me the happiest! About a week ago, or so, one of my favorite Twitter peeps, Paul Myers (@pulmyears) posted a great photo (pretty much exactly like the one above) to his Instagram account of a set of colorful owl candles he spotted at a nursery called Flowerland.

He filled me in on the location of the nursery, and last week I decided to pay it a little visit. Low and behold, there were the adorable candles! I decided to purchase the green one. It's got a nice autumn vibe to it, and I thought it would look really nice with my other candles on my desk. And it does. And it makes me smile. It reminds me that I am a bit older, but a bit wiser too. I am so glad he posted that photo, because if he hadn't, I would have missed out on the little green owl, and that wouldn't have been good because it was the perfect something to give myself for making it to 52!

:)

I just hope I didn't throw off the owl's Feng shui too much!

Hello *52*... good to meet ya! :)
