My Happy Place

"You must learn to let go. Release the stress. You were never in control anyway."

~Steve Maraboli, Life, The Truth, And Being Free

Okay, I have been a little stressed lately. I could give the laundry list, but why? No good comes from ruminating, and besides, why burden you, and possibly stress you out, about what I stress about! So, what am I going to do about all the stress? Glad you asked! I am going to spend a lot of time at one of my favorite places on Earth. Point Montara Lighthouse, in Montara, California.

Lighthouses have been my passion for years! I have been to many of them up and down the California coast, and have been intrigued and inspired by all of them, but there is something about Point Montara Lighthouse that I love, and let me tell you, it's true love! I love it's size, and it's history. I love that there are benches overlooking the water where you can sit for as long as you want, and just let go of whatever stress or pain that is in your way. I love that I can go there when nothing is wrong, and leave even happier than when I got there!

It's always there for me. It doesn't judge. It just shines it's light on me.

See...

And look how beautiful the sun is, as it begins to set, on a January day.

Who wouldn't want to spend the day there? Perhaps one day I will stay at the hostel on the grounds for a couple days, or maybe forever. You never know. Shrug.

The Color Blue

"A cloud does not know why it moves in just such a direction and at such a speed... it feels an impulsion... this is the place to go now. But the sky knows the reasons and the patterns behind all clouds, and you will know, too, when you lift yourself high enough to see beyond horizons."

~Richard Bach

I think I may have mentioned, maybe once or twice, that I am in love with this bay. It inspires me. Lightens my moods. Darkens my moods. Makes me feel less alone. And when I am lucky enough to be able to actually be in a boat on the San Francisco Bay, the waves seem to was all the stress from my body.I am never happier than when I am on the water. Last Saturday, on the bay, was a very good day, and these photos are the last ones I took that day. The first two was while I was on board the boat. The last one is looking back toward the city and Golden Gate Bridge.

A Face In The Crowd: Mr. Walnut At Work And At Play!

"For a moment at least, be a smile on someone else's face."

~Dejan Stojanovic, The Sun Watches The Sun

The last time I wrote a "Face In The Crowd" post was way back on April 5th! I was beginning to think that I wouldn't see any more this year, but yesterday, in Apple Hill, I saw a delightful face! Meet Mr. Walnut! And look at that, not only do we get to see Mr. Walnut as an average Walnut about town, but we get to see Mr. Walnut while he is on the job!

See... He has his own helmet!

I am pretty sure Mr. Walnut works in construction! And commutes. Clearly he is standing in line, at the Market Street Railway, waiting for the F Line Streetcar.

Gone Fishing

"Oh, why can't we break away from all this, just you and I, and lodge with my fleas in the hills? I mean, flee to my lodge in the hills."

- S. J. Perelman, Will B. Johnstone, and Arthur Sheekman, Monkey Business

Time for a little time away from the computer and the Internet. Today is June 1st! Where has the year gone? Pretty soon it will be time to put up the Christmas tree again. Where did I put that thing? (Insert crossed eyes here). I'll be back in a few days with an Elvis update, new photos, and who knows what else. Look for me around Thursday.
