Dear Sir And Or Madam...

“Next time, can you ask him to bring cookies?
I don't like to put up with that level of insane unless there's some kind of high-calorie compensation.”

~Lauren Beukes,

That probably wasn't the strangest Thanksgiving message ever issued by DJT, but it does seem to cover all of those who have an interest in him. Notably absent, a post wishing his family and supporters, a happy thanksgiving. I guess "Happy Thanksgiving to All" addresses that, but it pretty much makes his family, friends, supporters and whoever else that gives a shit about him, Mary Anne and the Professor from Gilligan's Island. Honestly, every holiday from now until forever will be fucked by that lunatic, just like it was when he was in office. Sigh. When he was actually in office, and not just another ignorant Floridian with brain lice, standing on his lawn in his underwear, barking at stray cats, proclaiming himself to be Lord King Trump, president of Miami, we had no real choice but to deal with whatever crazy ass thing that took up shop in his brain. I would still like to know what the hell, "covfefe" meant. Did you know that nonsensical word has it's own Wikipedia page? Honesty, it was exhausting having with him in political life, and I fear he has a really good chance of being put back in office, despite his 91 felony charges.

Here is today's Truth Social post from Mad King Trump...

It's his ridiculous attempt at explaining away his apparent cognitive decline, that bugs me to no end. While in office, the big test was for him to remember 5 words.

 Man, Woman, TV, Camera, Person

Wouldn't it have been better to have him remember
words that had nothing to do with his life?

Book, Paste, Mustard, Rose, Dog

But I guess all words can lead back to Trump...

1.Trump has never read a book.
2. I just know he ate paste on his first day of kindergarten
3. It wasn't mustard he threw at the walls in the White House, it was ketchup
4. Melania took an axe to the beautiful White House Rose Garden
5. Trump will never own a dog, it would steal too much attention away from him.

I am fairly sure he is going to be reelected. I think the thought of a president serving from prison intrigues some of the right. We are in dangerous times when that ever seems like a good idea to the electorate. The last time he was in office took years off my life, I fear the next time he serves as president will be no different, and it's not like I have a full lifetime in front of me. If losing my niece and nephew this past summer taught me anything, it was that life is too short to be weighed down by the insanity that is Trump. So I hope I can learn some healthier coping mechanisms between now and November, because the sheet-caking I did last time is just not the way to go! But GOD it helped, and the Grilled Cheese sandwich was the dessert!

Try this recipe for Croque-Monsieur it's amazing! Keep it handy!

My New Favorite Show... Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt ( Netflix Original )

"To say I'm an overrated troll, when you have never even seen me guard a bridge, is patently unfair."

~Tina Fey
Bossypants

Yesterday I told you about a documentary on Netflix that I had enjoyed thoroughly, and today I am at it again, I found a show I have to share with you, because Netflix is quickly becoming my favorite way to be entertained. This time out, I want to tell you about the newest, and funniest, 23 minutes of viewing, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. It comes from the wonderfully twisted minds, and comedic genius, of Tiny Fey and Robert Carlock. It has the pace, comedic bite, and some stars of the marvelous 30 Rock, but with a few new twists along the way. I don't want to give too much away, but imagine what life would be like, if you have just spent 15 years living in a small underground doomsday shelter in Indiana, and then once you learn the world didn't actually end, you decided to spend the rest of your life in New York City, and there you have the predicaments of our girl Kimmy.

Life, once you emerge, would be fun, and strange, and well, strange. And so is Kimmy, but strange in the kind of way that you might wish she was your next door neighbor, because not only can you trust her, but you might actually be able to get a contact high from her never ending enthusiasm. I find myself thinking of Kimmy as a less cynical Bridget Jones, which is easy to do because of the slight resemblance of Elle Kemper to Rene Zellewigger. But the biggest difference between Bridget and Kimmy, is Kimmy can wrap up her missteps in 23 minutes, and nothing is hopeless if you take it in 10 second increments. It's that thought alone which makes Kimmy a lot less lost than Bridget, so yeah, I would next door to Kimmy in a minute. If only to learn her coping skills! The only downside to the show being on Netflix, is the limited release of only 13 episodes. The show was originally developed for NBC, but it passed on it. Silly networks... their bonehead decisions are Netflix's and our, gain!

More Please!

Just Like Yesterday, Or 7 Years Ago...

"When anybody asks me what time it is, I always say, "Yesterday, plus 24 hours."

~Jarod Kintz

Some of you reading this post might recognize the graphic above as the template I used for the AOL Journals version of Ellipsis. I think I still have a few readers from that era, but if you discovered me here on Blogger then I now get to give you a glimpse of the early days of my mental blogging meanderings. LOL. AOL Ellipsis was posted to for the first time on August 23rd 2003, and last posted to October 31st 2005, although I had made the trek to Blogger a year earlier, after the ridiculous banner ad drama. I posted my first post here on Wednesday, November 16th, 2005.

Hello Blogsphere...

Remember that show "Suddenly Susan?" The basic premise was that this slightly ditzy girl suddenly finds herself all on her own in the world...and suddenly it all opens up with a lot of previously unforeseen opportunities. Well, after the "Black Tuesday" that AOL just gave to Journal Land, I "suddenly" find myself here. I have a new home. Right now the walls are bare, I haven't met my neighbors, and my furniture hasn't arrived, but it's home. And it's got a great view of the future!

Always, Carly

And that's how I ended up here! At lot has happened since then, I might reflect on those things as we move through the summer, and approach the anniversary of when I began journaling/blogging, August 23rd. There is so much that has happened, that it stuns me when I think about all the changes. Some of them were good for me, others, well, I would give anything if they hadn't happened. But they did, and one learns to deal with them, to make peace with them, and then move on. It's a sink or swim world and one simply has to survive. I curled up in a ball once, and with good reason mind you, but I learned some coping skills from that experience that I carry with me to this day! Hopefully, if I am ever faced with that kind of stress again, I will be able to deal fully with it.

Blogging has done a lot for me. It has been a great catharsis. I don't need to have a million readers. I don't need praise. I don't need to be coddled. All those things are nice, but at the end of the day, I just need a place where I can dispose of what my dear friend Pam called, head noise, that rattles in my mind. The good... and the bad. I have been blessed, because there has been way more good than bad. Way more friends than enemies. Way more happiness than sadness, and way more creativity than lack of it. Yes! I have been, and continue to be, BLESSED.

Can you believe that this summer will mark the 11th year of this blog? Where does time go?

Mood: Happy
