By The Ocean Blue And Autumn Leaf Of The Day #38

"A soul that smiles in empathy is a soul that blew away the sadness as the wild wilds blew. A soul that parts it's lips is a soul that smiled away the sadness, as the autumn leaves flew ... ."

The pelicans won the day last week, they were everywhere. They were out here in the valley in bigger numbers than I have ever seen, a fairly large group were tucked around the corner in Tiburon, in Marin County, and there were impressive numbers along the coast of Half Moon Bay, Bodega Bay, and Santa Cruz. I have become fond of watching them play. They seem to be an easier bird to get along with, as opposed to, say, a gull or maybe Scrub Jay. Pelicans are so photogenic, that I planning on photographing particular. There was something about seeing that large group of White Pelican's flying over the condo, earlier in the month, that enchanted me. I enjoy all birds so much, I guess we will have to see!

Lunch In Paradise Park

"A picnic is more than eating a meal, it is a pleasurable state of mind."

~DeeDee Stoval, 125 Recipes With 29 Seasonable Menus

Alan and I took a long drive through Marin County yesterday, just visiting the little cities along the way, and seeing new beautiful places in the Bay Area. We took a picnic lunch with us, and finally stopped at the lovely Paradise Beach/Park in Tiburon. It is an amazing place, right on the water, and absolutely relaxing. In fact, it was a little too relaxing, as I could have very easily stayed forever. It's been way too long since Alan and I went on a picnic. I love dating that man! And I think I am in love with this park.

As The Sun Sets Over Marin County In January

"Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm,
but to add color to my sunset sky."

~Rabindranath Tagore, Stray Birds

From the archives, but not previously posted, here is one of my favorite sights in winter... a sunset sitting softly over Marin County. I swear no other season like winter, produces this kind of beauty! Yes, sunsets happen all times of the year, but there is just something about bundling all up in my warm coat, gloves, scarf, hat to keep me as warm on the outside, as a sight like this makes me feel on the inside.

Beautiful.
I will say it again, with a sunset like this, how could anything bad possibly happen?
