Happy St. Patricks Day

"St. Patrick's Day is an enchanted time...
a day to begin transforming winter's dreams into summer's magic."

~Adrienne Cook

May your blessings outnumber
The shamrocks that grow
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! 2014

"St. Patrick's Day is an enchanted time... a day to begin transforming winter's dreams into summer's magic."

~Adrienne Cook

May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.

~Irish Blessing

:) Kiss me, I'm Irish! Well... no not really... but it's a fun thing to consider isn't it? :) Not kissing me specifically, but having a day when you must kiss someone, just for being who they are. I know, I know that is kinda what Valentine's Day is for, but somehow that has gotten lost in all the candy hearts, and Duck Dynasty love greetings! LOL. I have to admit, after seeing those valentine cards, I may never think of that heart shaped made up holiday the same way again! LOL.

I am not Irish, but I love St. Patrick's Day all the same! I love the cooking, the green clothing, the silly "Kiss Me I'm Irish" buttons, all of it! Halloween will always be my favorite holiday, but St. Patty's day comes close. On Halloween you can be anyone, or anything you want, but with St. Patrick's Day, you can wish your friends all the wonderful things in life that are possible. An action that should be done anyway... don't you think?

It's a nice reminder about how much your friends mean to you, Irish or not!

Here is the original version of the photo above. I took it last year in Half Moon Bay. It was a very beautiful day, and I was grateful for it!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

"Leprechauns, castles, good luck and laughter
Lullabies, dreams, and love ever after.
Poems, and songs with popes and drums
A thousand welcomes when anyone comes."

~Unknown

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Did you know...

If you forget to wear green, a leprechaun to pinch you!

St. Patrick's true given name was Maewyn Succat

The very first St. Patrick's Day Parade was held in Boston, in the year, 1737

According to Guinness Book of World Records, the highest number of leaves found on a clover is 14.

It has been estimated that there are about 10,000 regular three-leaf clovers for every four-leaf clover.

Each leaf of the four-leaf clover has a special meaning: the first for hope, the second for faith, the third for love and the fourth for luck.

At one time, there were more Irish living in New York City, than Dublin, Ireland

Shamrocks are the national flower of Ireland

The type of tree that Leprechauns supposedly live is the Hawthorn

I can't decide if I am wearing my pretty green skirt today, or my new Old Navy green dress!? I am thinking its all about the skirt today, as I will probably not go out. We'll see. :) This will be the first St. Patrick's Day I have had with Alan in a long time. He is home today because, poor baby, he has caught the nasty cold I am currently fighting! Fortunately, he bounces back from things pretty fast, let's hope he gets through this ailment just as fast!

He'll definitely need the LUCK OF THE IRISH! ;)

"What do you get when you cross poison ivy with a four-leaf clover?

A Rash Of Good Luck.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

"Shamrock only exists on St. Patrick's Day. Every other days of the year, it's just young clover."

-Charles Nelson

I am officially back from my blogging break! I had a nice time. :) I feel much more settled and relaxed, and I have a lot of new things to share, including my new hair color and style, my trip to Nevada, and... well... you will just have to stay tuned. In the mean time, I hope your St. Patrick's Day is a pleasant one, and don't forget the "Wearing 'O The Green," or you might be pinched by a wee leprechaun! ;) I have a nice green sweater all picked out to wear today, and later, I am making a traditional meal of Corned Beef and Potatoes, with all the sides. I might even get in a little time with the camera, as the weather has been nothing short of stunning lately. That is slated to change early next week, some rain is said to be on the way, but that is then, and this is now, and right now, I am focusing on the present, not worrying about the future. :)

May flowers always line your path and sunshine light your day.
May songbirds serenade you every step along the way.
May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that's always blue.
And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through!
