Ellipsis Movie Of The Week... Ocean's 11

Danny Ocean (answering the phone)
"Hello, this is a recording. You've dialed the right number; now hang up and don't do it again."

Ocean's 11 the original. The classic. Is it the best version of the story of Danny Ocean and his cohorts, you bet! But only because most of the time I go with the originals, so to be fair, the George Clooney's, 2001 version, definitely hits the mark! I guess it really depends on mood. Angie Dickinson is wonderful as Danny's wife. But Julia Roberts brought the same class as Dickinson did. Both films were made in different eras, so the updating of the story had to be done, and it was done in 2001 without damaging the original feel.  I am not going to tell you what I thought about the acting in either movie, because perfect is perfect. Right? So, here is my current pick between the two, but by the time the week is over, I might just watch the 2001 version. Shrug. Watch them both, but start with this one.

Ellipsis Christmas Movie Countdown #4

"I'm the fly in the ointment, monkey in the wrench, the pain in the ass."

Character of, John McClane
Die Hard

Yippee-Ki-yay! Here is a movie, set at Christmas time, where the holiday is more of an extra, than a star or even a co-star! If, like me, you just need a break from all the sentimental movies of Christmas, then this action film is a great alternative. Die Hard 2 was also set during Christmas time, but I didn't really care for it. I watch the full set of Die Hard movies a couple times a year, because I did enjoy the others, but I could skip the second one, and not miss it too much. So, watch Die Hard, and have a ball!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

"Oh the weather outside is frightful,
but the fire is so delightful,
and since we've no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow."

Written By Sammy Cahn and Jules Styne
Sung By, Dean Martin

Dean Martin - "A Marshmallow World" - LIVE - CHRISTMAS

“Music produces a kind of pleasure
which human nature cannot do without.”

~Confucius,

“I want to be remembered as a damn good entertainer, nothing spectacular. A good entertainer who made people enjoy themselves and made them laugh a little. I want them to think “He was a nice guy. He did pretty good and we loved him".”
