Your Monday Photo Shoot: Bye-Bye Winter

"From December to March, there are for many of us, three gardens. The garden outdoors, the garden of pots and bowls in the house, and the garden of the minds eye."

Katherine S. White

Your Monday Photo Shoot: Post any winter photos you didn't get around to posting earlier. Because winter is going, going, gone baby. Think of it as a last salute.

Here is another shot of my trip up Mt. Hamilton, on March 1st. As you can see, the snow at the mid point was beginning to melt, but all the way on top, was another story completely. The road was closed at McCarthy Ranch, which is about half way up. Sigh. It was so beautiful, especially with the green mountains in the foreground. Spring doesn't arrive for about a week, and while this entry was suggested as a kind of last hurrah for winter, I am planning a couple more entries about the change of seasons. Stay tuned! :)

"Winter lingered so long in the lap of spring, that it occasioned a great talk."

Perhaps I'm a sucker for mountain snow pictures, but I like this one a lot. Working my way up the page....
