RRC: By The Water

RRC: By The Water

I LOVE living in the Bay Area! Actually, I love living in California, even with all the troubles the state has faced in recent years. I know, I know... I have disparaged it from time to time by referring to it not as The Golden State, but rather The Tin Foil State. But that's all politics. As we all know, politics can be... well... disparaging. But enough of all that. At the end of the day, California is a breathtakingly beautiful place to live. It has it all. One February, a few years back, I actually watched the Mavericks surfing competition on the beach in Half Moon Bay, and the next day I was off to the snow in South Lake Tahoe! How is that for versatility? As varied as California can be, it's the shoreline I love the best.

Carly, you really know how to make me homesick! The photo of SF from the Marin Headlands just takes me back to some wonderful times. =) All are beautiful.

What a great variety of fantastic shots! I think I love the autumn colors one the best. Much as I love Tucson and the rest of Arizona (like you, except for state politics), I've wanted to live in California since high school at least. It's too pricey for me, I'm afraid, but I've visited Socal a lot. And someday - this Karen swears - I'll visit yoour part of the state!

Carly! These are all amazing shots. Just beautiful. I've been to a few of those places so it is very cool to see your photos. I'll be back to the challenge soon. I've been having lots of company and they take over my brain and computer room :0)

A wonderful selection of CA water sights! You definately hit several of my favorites...Love the rocky, cliffy north coast for sure.

So many wonderful interpretations of By the Water. I love the ocean, the rocks, the breeze, the waves crashing in, and my favorite has to be the sunset. Very nicely done!

Oh my! Just when I think *I* live in God's country, I am reminded that others do as well. How beautiful! You make me |almost| want to fly to CA. If I could drive it for a weeks vacation, I would have already visited.
Beautiful!

I think you are very right ! California is a beautiful place. We drove through along the shores and also stayed in San Fransisco. It's better to live in a beautiful State with bad politicians, then in an ugly state with bad politicians, finally they are all bad wherever you go in the world, lol !
