Bored On The 3rd Of July? Sarah Palin Resigns!

"All of 'em, any of 'em that have been in front of me over all these years."

-Sarah Palin, unable to name a single newspaper or magazine she reads, in an interview with Katie Couric

WOW! What a bombshell! Sarah Palin has just resigned as Alaska's governor, effective July 26th! So what do you think? Is she bored with being Alaska's governor? Or is something bigger in the works? Is she eyeing the presidency? Is there a new scandal about to unfold? If she is eyeing the presidency, why wouldn't she continue to work for the people of Alaska so her record can be as strong as possible when she officially throws her hat in the ring?

I don't understand her explanation at all. If she were to seek reelection as Alaska's governor, why would she assume her second term would become ineffectual? It's up to her what gets done... isn't it? Her speech seemed strange to me... what do you think? Do you think she might be taking time off to read a few newspapers, and learn what the Obama doctrine is?

Strange. Resigning the day before Independence Day.

(Tilting My Head)

Opinions, opinions.

Watch the video and tell me what you think is behind the sudden resignation of Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin's every move, every statement since she erupted onto the national stage last year have been verging on inexplicable. Either she has a complete moron advising her, or she's winging it, and she's the complete moron.

What worse, however, is listening to the right wing pundits try to spin this in some kind of positive way. I don't know if they've ever reached quite this far before. It would be funny if it weren't so pathetic.

Ha! Irony of ironies: the comment above mine was posted while I was composing. I didn't see it until I clicked 'submit.' I nearly spit my beer all over my monitor when I read it.

I agree with you...it seems very, very strange to me. One doesn't just suddenly up and resign at a press conference so hastily called that all of the reporters don't even have time to show up unless they're really acting on a major whim or they're trying to deflect something bad that's on the way.

I've heard plenty of rumors about various scandals that are "about to break," and maybe that's true, maybe it isn't. But any voter who thinks THIS seriously makes her a more attractive candidate for higher office might just be as big of a moron as whomever is advising her seems to be!
