Round Robin Challenge: Something Different

"I think a photography class should be a requirement in all educational programs, because it makes you see the world rather than just look at it."

-Unknown

My car, Lilith, will be 1 yr old on September 29th. In that I am one of those, "girly-girls" I only really know the basics of what makes her tick, but the idea of the challenge this time, was to step out of your comfort zone, so, while I know how to turn on the engine, how to change the radio station, how to make the wipers work, and oh yeah, if things go ever so slightly awry with the engine, tires or brakes, I also know how to push the little green panic button that notifies OnStar, I don't really understand much more then that. LOL. So, in trying to achieve "something different" for this challenge, I decided to learn more about what makes my car go. Here is what I learned...

There, that was easy, and now I feel so smart! Next I might learn how to change a tire. I am woman... hear me roar! ROFL! This challenge came to us by way of Nancy, author of the blog, Nancy Luvs Pix. Be sure to pay a visit to her blog, to see her entry, and then be sure to visit all the Robins. It is our first challenge, since we changed the day we play the challenges to Saturdays. The Robins are a creative bunch of bloggers, artists every one! :) Just click the links below.

Great application of the theme! Lilith is pretty, inside and out. ;-) Just like my Ruby! LOL! I wouldn't have a clue what to do with the engine, either. I had a problem getting all of your pictures to load so I may have missed out on some of your post, but I did get the gist. Love it!

Oh Carly....good for you!! I love what you chose for this challenge.
I wish I knew a whole lot more about the inside of cars....AND the inside of me for that matter.
;)

Well done!

Hugs,
Nance

So, so funny! What a great idea for this Challenge! Do you know to check the oil? John's always after me to do that more than, oh, a few times a year!

What a great choice for the topic! It made for some cool photos. And I agree with the other posters -- that's the cleanest car I ever saw outside a showroom.

LMAO, great entry hon, and I'm sooo proud of you. I was raised such a tomboy, I was working on cars by the time I was 13. My 21st birthday present from my dad was a carb rebuild kit for my Scout, and that's how I spent my birthday evening, rebuilding that carb. I was actually a certified mechanic at one time, and ran a Grand Auto Service shop in Reno for 4 years...the women that would come in and say things like "you mean I'm supposed to change the oil?" would drive me nuts. I agree with your quote above about everyone having to take a photography course, but oh boy I think EVERY woman should have to take a basic mechanics class. Even if you never do an oil change or tune up yourself, you're a lot better prepared when you need to take your car to a mechanic, and a lot less likely to be taken advantage of.

Nice tour of your car. I think it's cool that you named your car. I named mine too!

Hahaha ! That's great I would never have thought about taking pictures of my car's inlife ! And you even gave it a name !

If anything happened to our car, I'd be clueless how to fix it. I'd be calling CAA very quickly!

Thanks for stopping by mine :)

Nice tour of the "guts." When it comes to modern fuel injected engines I'm always a bit mystified. It's different!
