"I prefer winter and autumn, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape, the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show."
-Andrew Wyeth
We drove to Lake Tahoe today, to see the snow. I have never seen snow before, it was softer then I even thought it would be. The water in the lake was amazing! So clear, so cool and so very blue. The beauty was nearly blinding...it made me want to come back to the lake, to see it in all the seasons, to see the rest of the story. :)

I'm quite amazed to hear that you've never seen snow before. Hope you had a good time on your trip.
Snow has different textures, depending on how cold it is and how fresh and how wet. And that photo of yours is intriguing with textures of its own.

If you think Tahoe is beautiful in the winter, you've got to see it in the spring with all the greens and wildflowers. Absolutely gorgeous. I've been there many times and we are vacationing there this year!
not seen snow?
now, i've sent you sand from the east coast beach. would you like some connecticut snow?
wait...we are fresh out this month!
love, phin
Yay...for first times! Glad you experienced such beauty...

Tahoe is lovely... Definitely go in the spring...it is the most beatuiful of time...Winter has a beauty all its own, but I still enjoyed Spring the best. I lived in Reno for 4 years and was an often visitor to Tahoe.
Carly, yesterday I had 17" of snow sitting atop my car. It`s very pretty looking out my window towards the river, but on the car, ugh!
