A Photo A Day For 6 Months: Day 16~ Ghosts
“Ghosts have a way of misleading you; they can make your thoughts as heavy as branches after a storm."
~Rebecca Maizel ~ Infinite Days
I am just going to say this upfront... I believe in ghosts. I believe in live hauntings, and ones that involve the not so alive, and with that said, I believe a ghost might just be living next door to me, on the
property where I live.
You see, I live in a small cottage, in the East Bay hills, that sits on a fairly large property that is set off the road. There is the main house, my cottage, and a pair of renovated apartments a short walk away from my place.
About a month ago, the new owners of the property rented the top unit to a single male. No one on the property has ever seen him, and he has never approached us. Ordinarily, that would be ideal, as I don't much care for the inevitable drama that can occur from time to time with neighbors, but in this case it is a bit disconcerting.
He seems to only be home 3 1/2 hours a day. He arrives home around 9:00 PM and leaves again around 12:30 AM. He is never home during the day... ever! No one has seen him move in furniture, and he has never brought his garbage can down on garbage day. There isn't a washer and dryer in that unit, and no one has ever seen him take his laundry out to the laundromat. And if that isn't enough...you can't hear him walk up the usually creaky stairs to his apartment. This is the first neighbor in 11 years that hasn't made noise on those creaky stairs. It's like he floats.
Is it me, or is it all kinda spooky?
Alan thinks he might be newly divorced and didn't get the furniture, or the dishes, or the clothes. I kinda think it might be a ghost. I know, I know... Alan's theory seems much more plausible, but I keep thinking about all those movies where the main character tries to tell everyone that there is a ghost in the house, only to be sent off to the funny farm, just before the ghost runs amuck... but of course by then it's too late.
It also doesn't help that the one time I did kinda catch a glimpse of him, all I saw was some ghostly white hair, and a pale face. Then the light in his apartment went out, and I kinda got the feeling he was watching me... or possibly wondering why I was staring at him from the dark corner near the mailboxes.
LOL
Is it possible... I am haunting him?

That is a fascinating story. I'd find it creep if a neighbor was only there a few hours each night. Having nothing in the apartment is even more bizarre. If you ever find out the REAL story, you'll have to share.
Here's my photo for today...

I believe in ghosts, haunting, and spirits. I've had a few personal encounters.
