Except: for a couple of years when I was a kid, we rented a framed print of a Van Gogh, one with his weird, nightmarish cypress trees in it, and it always scared me. The other years we had a picture of three deer, all lying down, all abstract and made of triangles, but calm and soothing. You had to look closely to see the fawn within the shapes of its protective parents.
