A couple months I'll be shopping for the new storm season. There was alot of stuff I could not buy as Rita approached. The stores were cleaned out. Not sure if I'll double on the canned goods or batteries, but I know now I need twice the amount I thought I needed.Stevenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11718278715406015576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19022366.post-1143033989389381142006-03-22T08:26:00.000-05:002006-03-22T08:26:00.000-05:00Hi Carly.. long ago when i lived in CA I went thru...Hi Carly.. long ago when i lived in CA I went thru a 6.7 (or so they said .. first reports from the same people was much larger.. then suddenly they changed their minds) I don't know if you were reading my journal when i sorta wrote about it.. here's the addy.

http://herethereandeverywhere2ndedition.blogspot.com/2006/02/places-ive-lived.html

and as far as BUSH goes, George Burns said it pretty well when he said the following:

Too bad the only people who know how to run the country are busy driving cabs and cutting hair. ~George BurnsDesLilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02582481597658080464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19022366.post-1143021295922367832006-03-22T04:54:00.000-05:002006-03-22T04:54:00.000-05:00Heck, Carly, I don't think we have aNY batteries i...Heck, Carly, I don't think we have aNY batteries in our smoke detector, let alone fresh ones. Our main smoke detector is named Tuffy, and she runs on dog biscuits.I think John knows where a flashlight is, but whether it actually works is usually the big question. We tend to use votive candles during power outages.

A lot of the other stuff you mention - change of clothes, dog food, etc., we'd probably just buy if we needed it. Point taken, though. I'll give all thos some serious thought. Thanks!

KarenKaren Funk Blocherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16860091802901743222noreply@blogger.com
