I was so pleased with the choice John made for our challenge, because I need to work on doing more "Macro" photography. I have been struggling with a cold since, New Years, so I didn't get a chance to take many new photos since the challenge was announced, but I did take the flower photo at the bottom of this entry, so that is my latest attempt at doing macro, but I did a little bit of macro photography while visiting the butterfly exhibit at the Conservatory of Flowers last summer. Here are a few of the butterflies, and a new flower... up-close and personal!

Closeups of butterflies and cosmos--a couple of my favorite subjects! Nice stuff. (Yep, you're making me want to get up to that San Fran place...)
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are so beautiful, I just can't say anything else ! They would be a very good subject for painting (I paint) so colorful. The first picture looks like a human, coming from another planet ! He looks as if he is wearing boots !

If you are ever in the Denver area, you must go to the Butterfly Pavilion! Love the top pic! Definitely my fave! How'd you get the b'flies to hold so still???
ReplyDeleteI didn't participate this time and I probably should have and could have, but for some reason I couldn't get my head around what was wanted. I'm a bit dingy that way lately. ;-) I love your pics -- they are beautiful! I can't get enough of the butterflies!
ReplyDeleteThe second and third shots are really extraordinary. Look at all those subtle gradiation in color! Someday I hope to take macro nature photos half as good as this.
